MADEIN member Suhye will be temporarily suspending her activities.

Suhye Officially Taking A Break From MADEIN’s Group Activities

On May 14, the group’s agency 143 Entertainment released an official statement announcing that Suhye has decided to take a break from activities due to personal reasons. The agency stated that the decision was made after careful discussions with the artist, prioritizing her health and well-being. They asked for fans’ understanding and support during this time.

“Hello, this is 143 Entertainment,” the statement read. “We sincerely thank you for the warm love and support you always give to MADEIN.”

“Due to personal reasons, Suhye has decided to take a break for the time being,” it continued. “We kindly ask for your understanding as this decision was made so that she can return to her fans in a better condition.”

“Our company will do our utmost to support Suhye so that she can have enough time to rest comfortably,” it concluded. “We ask for your warm encouragement so that Suhye can return brightly.”

Suhye debuted with MADEIN in September 2023 as part of the seven-member lineup, which also includes Nagomi, Serina, Miu, Yeseo, Mashiro, and formerly Gaeun. Since their debut, MADEIN had begun gaining attention for their youthful energy and dynamic performances.

However, the group has recently been caught in controversy. In November 2023, JTBC’s program Crime Chief” reported that a member of MADEIN had allegedly been sexually harassed by 143 Entertainment’s CEO. The member was later revealed to be Gaeun, who subsequently departed from the group.

While the agency denied the allegations, Gaeun held a press conference on April 29, publicly announcing that she had filed a sexual harassment complaint against the CEO.

As Suhye steps back temporarily, concerns continue to grow around the group’s future and the broader implications for artist safety in the K-pop industry.
