MONSTA X Member Chae Hyungwon Discharged from Military Service
On May 13, Hyungwon was discharged after completing one year and six months of mandatory military service. He served actively with the Capital Mechanized Infantry Division in Gapyeong County, where he was praised for his exemplary dedication and diligent attitude, earning him an early promotion to corporal.
Hyungwon originally enlisted on November 14, 2023, and throughout his service, he remained in the hearts of fans, who eagerly awaited his return.
To express his gratitude, Hyungwon shared a heartfelt message on social media along with photos commemorating his discharge. He wrote, “MONBEBE, I missed you. Thanks to MONBEBE who waited for me, I was able to finish my service in good health. Let’s see each other for a long time going forward, MONBEBE.”

His return makes him the fifth member of MONSTA X to complete military service, following Shownu, Minhyuk, Joohoney, and Kihyun. Only I.M, who is not subject to mandatory service due to his U.S. citizenship, remains active without enlistment.

Additionally, MONSTA X will be celebrating their 10th debut anniversary this year, and they’re already preparing for a full group comeback. Moreover, they have been scheduled to perform at KCON LA 2025, much to the joy of international fans.
