TXT’s Soobin and Yeonjun Join HI-BOYZ in ‘Resident Playbook’ Teaser
A spin-off of the beloved series “Hospital Playlist”, tvN’s new drama “Resident Playbook” offers a heartfelt look into the everyday lives, challenges, and friendships of medical residents working at the Jongro branch of Yulje Medical Center.
In a recent episode aired on May 10, viewers were treated to an unexpected but delightful surprise when TXT’s Yeonjun and Soobin made special cameos as former bandmates of Um Jae Il (played by Kang You Seok), a rookie doctor who used to be part of the now-disbanded idol group HI-BOYZ.
During a karaoke scene, Um Jae Il sang the group’s song “When the Day Comes,” and the screen lit up with a nostalgic “MV-style” background featuring Yeonjun and Soobin dancing alongside him in matching idol outfits. Although only the two members appeared visually, the vocals on the track feature all five members of TXT, lending authenticity and emotional depth to the fictional group’s backstory.
The song “When the Day Comes” will be officially released as part of the “Resident Playbook” OST on May 11 at 6 p.m. KST, exciting fans of both the drama and TXT. But the surprises don’t stop there—HI-BOYZ’s full performance video for the track is also on its way and will be unveiled on May 12 at 12 p.m. KST. Fans can look forward to seeing the complete choreography and visuals that bring this fictional idol group to life in stunning detail.
This creative blend of K-pop and K-drama storytelling has captivated viewers, and anticipation is high for HI-BOYZ’s performance to go viral both in and out of the show’s universe.
