The new “BATTER UP” MV has been dropped and this time, it’s putting the focus on the members of BABYMONSTER. The idol group has just released the official dance performance video for their debut single!

BABYMONSTER Finally Releases ‘BATTER UP’ Dance Performance Video

BABYMONSTER, the latest addition to YG Entertainment’s talent roster, has not only marked their debut with a powerful single “BATTER UP” but they’ve also captured the attention of K-pop enthusiasts globally. As promised to fans, the group unveiled a special dance performance video for “BATTER UP”, showcasing their synchronicity and hip-hop-infused choreography.

There’s a good reason why BABYMONSTER dropped the dance performance video so soon. “BATTER UP” quickly climbed the charts, claiming the top spot on YouTube Global Charts. Furthermore, the official music video dominated the weekly popular music video chart for an impressive five consecutive days. The record-breaking success of BABYMONSTER’s debut is further highlighted by the achievement of surpassing 50 million views on YouTube within just under 4 days and 8 hours since its release.

This milestone positions BABYMONSTER as the fastest K-pop group debut to reach the 50 million views mark, surpassing the previous record set by aespa’s debut hit “Black Mamba,” in 2020. The group’s rapid ascent in the competitive K-pop scene is evident, establishing them as a force to be reckoned with.

Who are BABYMONSTER?

Originally consisting of seven members—Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rami, Rora, and Chiquita—the selection process for the group was meticulously documented in the reality show “Last Evaluation,” filmed the previous year. The final lineup reflects the group’s multicultural identity, featuring members from South Korea, Japan, and Thailand.

Despite facing initial uncertainties, particularly regarding member Ahyeon, who was reported to have departed due to health reasons, YG Entertainment later clarified that Ahyeon would remain part of the lineup. She would temporarily exclude herself from debut activities to prioritize her recovery, indicating the agency’s commitment to the well-being of its artists.

As BABYMONSTER continues to make waves with their debut, the anticipation surrounding their future activities and contributions to the K-pop landscape continues to grow. The group’s achievement not only serves as a testament to their talent and appeal but also solidifies YG Entertainment’s commitment to nurturing and promoting exceptional artists in the ever-evolving world of K-pop.
