Gong Yoo Opens Up About Anxiety After ‘Guardian: The Lonely and Great God’ Success

Gong Yoo might be an accomplished actor but the “Train to Busan” star revealed that the success also made him anxious. The actor, whose real name is Gong Ji-cheol, has just revealed that he suffered from anxiety after the positive response to his drama “Goblin: The Lonely and Great God”.

Gong Yoo Discusses Anxiety Over ‘Goblin’ Success

In the Chuseok special of “Pinggyego”, Gong Yoo was a guest and he discussed his career. When asked about his success, Gong admitted that he experienced anxiety when he was younger.

“Of course,” he said. “I’m not sure how you’ll take this, but I think I experienced it once in my twenties and once in my thirties.”

The “Coffee Prince” actor then added, “I don’t think I can explain clearly why I was anxious.” He then discussed how the success of his famous tvN drama caused his anxiety.

“For example, ‘Guardian: The Lonely and Great God’ did very well, but I wasn’t happy,” Gong said. “I was happy it did well, but apart from that, there was a time when I felt so empty and I couldn’t wake myself up. It’s not that the work was hard or that it went well, I wasn’t able to enjoy the spotlight when projects were a success.”

Suffering from anxiety isn’t the only problem he had. Gong admitted that he had some difficulty opening about his situation.

It’s hard to say this openly,” he said. “It should be a time when other people would be so happy they feel like they’re floating in the clouds, but if I say that my heart felt strange, it feels like I’m not grateful. After going through a hard time like that, the way I look at people around me changed. I felt like I was more nosy in that I didn’t want them to go through the same hurt.”

Gong Yoo is set to reprise his role as the Recruiter in Netflix’s “Squid Game” Season 2 next year.

BTS’ Jungkook Celebrates ‘3D’ Release With ‘Consequence’ Interview

BTSJungkook has proven his mettle in the music industry again. His recent track, “3D (feat. Jack Harlow),” has skyrocketed to the top, clinching the No. 1 spot on iTunes in eight major global markets. This achievement breaks his own record set by “Seven (feat. Latto).” Adding to the accolades, the official music video for “3D” has already raked in over five million views.

A harmonious blend of past and present

In celebration of this success, Consequence magazine dropped an exclusive interview with the star. The backdrop was his rehearsals for the esteemed Global Citizen Festival in New York. Here, he unveiled his setlist, which featured solo tracks like “Euphoria” and “Still With You,” coupled with BTS‘ English hits “Dynamite,” “Butter,” and “Permission to Dance.”

“So, there I was, preparing for my next single,” Jungkook reminisced, detailing his journey to “3D.” He went through a plethora of tracks before one struck a chord. “I received lots of songs to look at, but didn’t really like any of them until I met this one. The moment I heard it, I chose it naturally.”

The song, a harmonious blend of past and present, is accentuated by Jungkook‘s signature refrains. Jack Harlow‘s rap verses further modernize the track. Scheduling conflicts prevented them from recording the song together, but they made up for that by bonding during the music video shoot. Sharing a behind-the-scenes tidbit, Jungkook revealed, “Just to share with you one interesting episode, there’s a scene in the video where we play chess, so I learned to play for the first time right there. And you know what? I played with Jack, and I won!”

Jungkook on the track’s key points

Diving deeper into the essence of “3D,” Jungkook provided a comprehensive breakdown of the track’s key points. Beginning with the choreography, he said, “If you listen to Seven’ and watch the video, there’s something fresh-faced about it. With ‘3D,’ there’s a little more sexiness incorporated into the choreography,” he teased. “Some parts are very high in intensity, others are more relaxed. There’s a lot of contrast and dynamic moves in the video. The choreography is overall very addictive and easy to follow. The fun vibe of the song adds to the feel. I think there’s a lot to enjoy.”

Transitioning to his inspirations, he reflected on his musical influences—especially the tracks from the early 2000s that shaped his formative years. “So, back in the day when I was a trainee, I listened to a lot of songs to prepare for our work. When I started working on this song, I got the sense that it could really appeal to people who know early 2000s music. There’s a sense of nostalgia,” he explained. “But I also felt it could also appeal to younger people with its sophisticated feel, and that kind of direction felt right to me. I also paid close attention to the pronunciation, the feel of the lyrics, and overall content so that I could bring that feeling to life.”

Pushing boundaries

Highlighting his aspirations, Jungkook‘s ambition and drive shone through as he discussed pushing his artistic boundaries. “What I want to do is test how far I can go with my voice and my capabilities. How far can I go completely on my own? Also, I want to try out many different genres, and it’s important that I’m not fixed on any particular genre. I just want to be open, so when I’m working on a song, I’m focused on that moment. The stories of the songs can appeal to a lot of people and be relatable with different variations on that,” he elaborated.

Concluding his insights, he delved into the symbolism behind his solo endeavors, using color as a metaphor to represent his unique identity. “I picture blueish tints and white. It’s the reason I recently changed the color of my microphone to white! With BTS songs, it’s all the different colors of the individual members coming together—whereas for me, it’s just me and my own unique color. I don’t think I could make something that has all the colors of BTS, but being a part of BTS formed the basis for my solo project.”

Congratulations on the success of “3D,” Jungkook! – K-Pop News Writer

Is BTS’ Jungkook Collaborating With These International Artists?

From “Latto” to “3D,” Jungkook of globally renowned K-pop group BTS has treated fans with diverse styles and genres in his venture as a solo artist.

Much to the delight of ARMYs, it seemed like that the younger member of BTS is nowhere close to stopping as rumors of future collaboration abound on social media.

Jungkook as a solo artist

In July, Jungkook collaborated with American singer-rapper Latto for his digital single “Seven.” The all-English track gained immense popularity that it set the Guinness World record for being the most streamed track on Spotify in one week by a solo male artist. It even won the Song of the Summer award at the MTV VMAs.

No two months later, he also surprised fans when he announced that he’s collaborating with American singer Jack Harlow for the song “3D.” Released on Friday, September 29, the song is an R&B pop track about keeping connection despite distances.

Prior to the official release of “3D,” fans of both artists were delighted to see Jungkook and Jack Harlow interacting. On social media, photos and snippets of their preparation for the collaboration were shared.

In a press release, the BTS member said that he’ll show a “different side” of him in the new collaboration. “I’ll keep working hard to continue to share great music in the future,” he added.

Although there’s no official confirmation, the K-pop star has been hinting about a possible mini-album. In his guesting in Suchwita, he said that the album might be out in November.

Because of this, ARMYs are on the lookout as they try to find hints at what Jungkook’s next move might be.

Are more collaborations coming?

Recently, some are speculating that he’s set to do more collaborations with international artists such as The Kid LAROI and Zayn Malik.

With The Kid LAROI, fans are thinking that the Australian singer-songwriter sharing a photo with HYBE founder Bang Si Hyuk with the sign that read: “Let Laroi drop ‘Stay’” is a hint.

Stay is his song featuring Canadian singer Justin Bieber. Moreover, HYBE has also merged with Ithaca Holdings, the agency that handles The Kid LAROI. This makes fans think that teaming up for a collaboration would be easier for the two artists.

Additionally, The Kid LAROI also resurfaced an old clip of Jungkook doing a cover of his hit song “Stay.” On his Instagram story, he shared the video and wrote “Soon.” And ARMYs also pointed out that Jungkook has watched The Kid LAROI perform in the Coachella festival.

Aside from The Kid LAROI, Jungkook is also rumored to be collaborating with British singer Zayn Malik.

According to a Koreaboo report, a fanbase of Zayn Malik claimed that the two artists are collaborating. Allegedly, the new song titled “Backseat Kisswas announced through a newsletter. It will be released on December 1.

However, other fans of Zayn Malik claimed that they haven’t received the same newsletter. Which leads to fans doubting its authenticity, especially that the post was deleted shortly after. Neither of the artists’ specific management have confirmed the news yet.

Still, whether it was real or not, fans have longed for Jungkook and Zayn Malik to collaborate. Given that the BTS member has previously shared how he listened to the former One Direction member on several accounts.

Currently, there’s no confirmation yet about Jungkook’s next releases.

S.Coups Drops by Weverse to Update Fans

S.Coups, the charismatic leader of SEVENTEEN, recently took to Weverse to update fans about his day, particularly his ongoing rehabilitation. He began by reassuring CARATs, the fandom name for SEVENTEEN supporters, that he had completed his rehab for the day. Emphasizing the need for strength, he encouraged fans to stay strong, mirroring his own determination.

A concerned fan reached out, highlighting the challenges and pain associated with rehab. In response, S.Coups admitted that the process was more demanding than anticipated. This candid exchange was soon joined by fellow SEVENTEEN member Jeonghan, who playfully suggested a run together once S.Coups fully recovers. Jeonghan boasted about his improved stamina, saying he can now run for approximately six minutes. In response to another fan’s query, Jeonghan emphasized that the proposed run would take place after S.Coups‘ complete recovery.

SEVENTEEN SCOUPS WEVERSE LIVE || 🙂 || (230927)

S. Coups later went live. He greeted fans and spoke about his rehabilitation journey. “Hello. I worked hard on my rehab today. Rehab is always painful, but we have to overcome it. Talking isn’t bothersome; I just have to work hard. My muscles have deteriorated a lot. Anyway, it’s been a long time. I feel like I haven’t shown my face in a while. I thought briefly showing my face would be nice, so I turned this on for a moment.”

He also touched upon his sleep patterns, saying, “Certainly, someone who used to be physically active and now isn’t can’t sleep well at night. I fall asleep early and wake up early, so I couldn’t sleep. I’m always sleepy in the evenings. But I wanted to show my face briefly before I doze off. Let’s talk about good things. Let’s just chat.”

What has S.Coups been up to?

S.Coups revealed, “Lately, I’ve had a lot of free time, so even if I don’t release it, I wanted to do something productive. Being at home all the time makes me feel a bit down. So I ended up working on personal projects. I finished making a song, but recording is quite challenging, so I recorded twice. I made the song too difficult because I was too ambitious. But Bumzu-hyung and I are looking for a solution.”

Addressing fans’ curiosity about his appearance, he playfully teased, “Did I dye my hair? I dyed it, but the color faded. So I’m wondering what I should do with it now. My eyes are red, but that’s because my bangs are getting in my eyes after I cut them short.” He also touched on his diet: “I don’t drink much coffee, but I always leave some behind. I never really hated mint chocolate ice cream. I just never ate it often. Was it the ‘Superdad’ pack from Baskin Robbins? You have to order a few flavors, so I was like, ‘Let’s try the mint choco!’ And it was good.”

Hope and encouragement

Concluding his heartfelt session, S.Coups left fans with a message of hope and encouragement: “I have to go now, but I hope you all got a good look. I’ll work hard on my rehabilitation and show you a healthier side of me. CARATs, take care. The weather has been on and off with rain lately, so don’t get caught in it. We’ll see each other again when we can. I’ll come often. Everyone, rest well. I’ll go now. Bye-bye.”

His live broadcast lasted less than 12 minutes, but that was more than enough for the fans who missed him dearly. Here’s hoping he recovers from his injury soon! – K-Pop News Writer
