KINGKONG by STARSHIP Addresses Yoo Yeon Seok Tax Investigation

Yoo Yeon Seok‘s agency is speaking out about the news involving the “When The Phone Rings” actor. KINGKONG by STARSHIP has offered a clarification on the reported tax investigation.

Yoo Yeon Seok’s Agency KINGKONG by STARSHIP Responds to Tax Investigation Reports

On March 14, KINGKONG by STARSHIP officially addressed the ongoing reports regarding a tax investigation involving actor Yoo Yeon Seok.

“This matter arose due to differing interpretations and applications of tax law between our tax representatives and the tax authorities,” the statement read. “We are currently awaiting the tax authority’s final ruling following the pre-assessment review. As this is not yet a confirmed or finalized decision, we plan to actively present our case through the proper legal procedures.”

“The issue stems from the National Tax Service classifying the past five years of revenue from Yoo Yeon Seok’s YouTube content development and production—established as an extension of his entertainment career—as well as additional business and food ventures built upon it, as subject to personal income tax rather than corporate tax,” it continued. “This resulted in personal income tax being levied on earnings that had already been fully reported as corporate income by his tax representatives.”

They added, “Yoo Yeon Seok has always prioritized fulfilling his tax obligations with integrity and will continue to abide by all relevant laws and procedures as a responsible citizen.”

What is Happening with Yoo Yeon Seok and the Tax Investigation?

Earlier in the day, various media outlets reported that the National Tax Service had conducted a detailed tax audit on Yoo Yeon Seok, ultimately notifying him of plans to impose an additional tax fee of approximately 7 billion won (around $4.8 million USD).

The investigation is reportedly linked to the financial operations of Forever Entertainment, an agency founded by Yoo Yeon Seok. Authorities are said to have flagged certain tax concerns related to the company’s establishment, prompting the audit.

In response to the ruling, Yoo Yeon Seok has filed a pre-assessment appeal in January, contesting the tax penalty. His legal representatives have emphasized their commitment to actively clarifying the matter and ensuring that the review process proceeds fairly.

As the case unfolds, KINGKONG by STARSHIP also reassured the public that they would provide updates as more information becomes available.

GOLDMEDALIST Issues Official Statement Regarding Recent Kim Soo Hyun Allegations

Actor Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, GOLDMEDALIST, has released an official statement earlier than originally scheduled, addressing the recent controversy surrounding the actor.

Kim Soo Hyun’s Agency Releases an Official Statement Earlier Than Expected

Previously, GOLDMEDALIST had announced that they would provide a clear and substantiated position regarding the matter by next week. However, on the morning of March 14, the agency released an official statement ahead of time.

In their statement, GOLDMEDALIST confirmed that Kim Soo Hyun and the late Kim Sae Ron had been in a relationship in the past. However, they strongly denied any allegations that their relationship took place while Kim Sae Ron was still a minor. The agency emphasized that the claims circulating online were misleading and inaccurate.

“The photos shared by Kim Sae Ron on her Instagram Stories on March 24, 2024 and those shown in HoverLab’s broadcast on March 11, 2025 depict private moments of the two during their relationship in the winter of 2020. The outfit worn by Kim Sae Ron in those photos was released by a brand in June 2019, making HoverLab’s claim that the photos were taken in 2016, when Kim Sae Ron was a minor, impossible,” the statement read.

Additionally, the agency refuted allegations that Kim Soo Hyun’s agency had pressured Kim Sae Ron to repay 700 million won (approximately $481,300). To support their stance, they included images as evidence in their statement, aiming to disprove the claims.

“At that time, GOLDMEDALIST paid off the entire remaining debt that Kim Sae Ron could not handle,” the statement continued. “GOLDMEDALIST worked with Kim Sae Ron to resolve various penalties related to her acting activities and compensation for merchants affected by the drunk driving incident after the accident.”

The statement was issued in response to rising speculation and online rumors that had gained traction in recent days. The agency expressed their frustration with the spread of false and malicious claims, emphasizing their commitment to protecting their artist’s reputation.

Furthermore, the agency warned that they would be taking legal action against those who continue to spread misinformation and defamatory statements about Kim Soo Hyun. They urged the public and media to refrain from believing or sharing unverified claims.

Kim Soo Hyun, known for his roles in “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” and “Queen of Tears”, has remained silent on the issue so far, letting his agency handle the matter. Fans are now waiting to see if he will personally address the controversy.

As the situation continues to unfold, GOLDMEDALIST has promised to take all necessary steps to clarify the truth.
