GOT7’s BamBam Asks Agency To Take Action Against Haters

BamBam of K-pop group GOT7 has had enough of the online hate he’s receiving and has demanded his agency, ABYSS, to seek a proper resolution about it.

In a series of X (formerly Twitter) posts, the Thai rapper has lamented on the mounting criticism and false reports against him. Moreover, he confronted those circulating “fake news” and engaging in online hate directed at him.

Following the online attacks he’s getting, BamBam has expressed his frustration towards his agency ABYSS on not having taken a proper action to protect him from this hate.

“Can you really do something about these people talking shit about me and [making] fake news,” the idol said, tagging his agency’s account. “I’m for real sick of it and can’t take it anymore. Whoever [has] a problem with me, [you all] wait for the last episode.”

In a follow-up tweet, he also hinted at a potential legal action against those responsible for spreading false information or engaging in hate speech, regardless of their location. “[I’m going to] do my best to get you. Let’s see what happens,” he promised.

As of now, ABYSS has yet to issue a statement on BamBam’s situation. But it can be recalled that in April, they already announced that they’re planning to pursue legal action against those who are responsible for the malicious comments directed at their artist. However, there remains no development about it yet.

BamBam and his struggle with online hate

2023 had been a tough year for the GOT7 member as he’s been hounded by harsh criticisms from other K-pop fans. Despite his intent to create a light and fun atmosphere in interviews, some fans were taking his statements negatively. Which results in him being on the receiving end of hate.

For this year, he got embroiled in controversy when he mentioned NewJeans’ Haerin and Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon in his interviews. While both happened in several accounts, fans of the two artists were criticizing BamBam’s appreciation towards his fellow idols.

Moreover, what prompted his tirade on social media was his recent interview with NCT’s Ten in his online series Bam’s House. In that particular episode, fans were claiming that BamBam made Ten uncomfortable.

In a live stream in May, he already told his haters to leave him alone. “If [you all are] not gonna support [me], just back off,” he said.

Following BamBam’s social media posts, his fans couldn’t help but defend him, saying that other fans were just twisting his words and actions out of context. Meanwhile, others are also concerned at how the issues have been affecting him, demanding that ABYSS should do more to protect their artist.
