Kang Daniel Addresses His Past Controversies as MC of “Street Man Fighter”

On August 17, the second season of Mnet’s Street Woman Fighter held a press conference ahead of its premiere next week. The event was graced by the presence of main PD Kim Ji Eun, MC Kang Daniel, and team leaders representing the eight competing crews: 1MILLION, BEBE, DEEP N DAP, Jam Republic, LadyBounce, Mannequeen, TSUBAKILL, and Wolf’Lo

Additionally, this season’s fight judges, Monika and MONSTA X‘s Shownu, as well as special judges Aiki and Rie Hata, shared their insights on the upcoming season.

However, the spotlight was on Kang Daniel, who previously faced backlash for his comments during his stint as an MC on Street Man Fighter, the male version of Street Woman Fighter. Specifically, he remarked, “Honestly, I feel much more comfortable filming with men. I’m so happy that nothing is draining my energy. I was so scared of them [on Street Woman Fighter].” This statement drew sharp criticism, with many netizens labeling his views as “sexist.”

Moreover, during the live finale of Street Man Fighter, Kang Daniel stirred controversy again. This time, he mistakenly referred to the show’s sponsor, Seagram’s, as a rival brand, TREVI.

I’m striving to ensure I don’t inconvenience anyone, and I hope viewers will see my growth.”
