Kim Soo Hyun’s Agency Addresses Late Sulli ‘Real’ Explicit Scenes

Kim Soo Hyun’s agency has finally addressed the recent statement about the unnecessary explicit scenes in the film “Real” that involved the late Sulli.

GOLDMEDALIST Addresses ‘Real’ Explicit Scene Involving the Late Sulli

On April 2, GOLDMEDALIST, the agency representing Kim Soo Hyun, released an official statement addressing the controversy surrounding the 2017 film “Real” and the allegations made by the late Sulli’s older brother.

The statement came in response to a letter released on March 28, in which Sulli’s brother demanded clarification from Kim Soo Hyun and “Real” director Lee Sa Rang (legal name Lee Ro Be), who is also the co-founder of GOLDMEDALIST. The letter raised concerns over the nature of Sulli’s explicit bedroom scene in the film, claiming it had not been originally scripted to be so revealing. He also alleged that although a body double was present on set, Sulli had been pressured into performing the scene herself, contradicting earlier claims that the body double had been absent due to illness.

In their official response, GOLDMEDALIST expressed deep sorrow regarding the renewed attention on a difficult chapter involving the late Sulli. The agency clarified that Kim Soo Hyun was not involved in any production-related decisions, including how specific scenes were filmed or edited. They emphasized that his role was strictly limited to acting and that he had no authority or involvement in directing or scene composition.

“The script that was given to the late actress Choi Jin Ri’s agency at the time also included a bedroom scene, and the materials explaining the character of Song Yoo Hwa included plans for the extent of nudity involved. Also, when drawing up the contract for her appearance, there was a separate clause written up regarding the level of nudity. The late actress Choi Jin Ri and her agency at the time had sufficiently reviewed all of the content before deciding to appear [in the film].”

The statement also highlighted that the filming process of “Real” was managed by the production team and director, and that Kim Soo Hyun was not in a position to influence whether a body double was used or what changes were made to the script on set. GOLDMEDALIST concluded by stating that they hope unnecessary misunderstandings and harmful speculation surrounding the issue would cease, out of respect for both the deceased and those still grieving her loss.

The agency did not comment further on director Lee Sa Rang’s position.
