‘MUSIC BANK in MADRID’ Drops Official Statement About Cancellation

The highly anticipated “Music Bank in Madrid” event has been canceled, according to an official statement released by KBS on September 19. The concert was originally scheduled to take place at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium on October 12, 2024.

KBS Posts Lengthy Statement Regarding ‘Music Bank in Madrid’ Cancellation

In their announcement, KBS explained that the stadium’s administration had informed them of the cancellation. The reason provided was related to ongoing noise complaints from residents, leading the stadium management to cancel all music concerts at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium until March 2025.

“It has been 6 days since Real Madrid made the initial announcement of the cancellation of the Music Bank concert, and as of today, September 19, Real Madrid has not provided any official explanation or apology to KANGOORU, S.L., KBS Music Bank, or the thousands of K-pop fans who were eagerly looking forward to the Music Bank concert at the Bernabéu. This is an even more unfair act,” the statement read.

The Music Bank production team is willing to negotiate with the administrative authorities of Madrid and the official of the Bernabéu stadium regarding any requests or alternatives, and together with the local organizers and the thousands of K-pop fans, they will take measures to avoid any inconvenience to the residents in the vicinity of the event venue,” it added.

This decision has disappointed many K-pop fans who were eagerly awaiting the Madrid leg of the global concert series that showcases top K-pop artists. Despite the unfortunate cancellation, there has been no further comment from Real Madrid or the stadium’s administration to confirm or clarify KBS’s statement.

Fans are now waiting for updates from KBS regarding whether the concert might be rescheduled at a different venue or whether the Madrid stop will be skipped entirely. Further developments on this story are expected in the coming days.
