Netflix is set to release the highly anticipated second season of Weak Hero Class 1, following the success of its first season as a wavve Original. The move to Netflix comes amid wavve’s financial struggles, including a significant operational loss in the previous year. Despite wavve’s investment in unique content, they have faced challenges in achieving substantial returns.
Internal difficulties at wavve also contributed to the decision to move Weak Hero Class 1 Season 2 to Netflix. The series, which debuted in 2022, has already seen some success at movie theaters, making the transition smoother. On December 1, 2023, Naver reported that talks between wavve and the production company were nearing completion.
On December 4, Netflix announced the production of Weak Hero Class 2. Its star-studded cast includes Park Ji Hoon, Ryeoun (Park Hu Min/Ben Park), Choi Min Yeong (Seo Jun Tae/Eugene Gale), Yoo Su Bin (Choi Hyo Man/Colton Choi), Bae Na Ra (Na Baek Jin/Donald Na), Lee Min Jae (Go Hyun Tak/Alex Go), and Lee Jun Young (Keum Seong Je/Wolf Keum). The first season’s production team will return for the new season.
