On December 14, the members of NewJeans unveiled a new Instagram account under the username “jeanzforfree.” This separate account marks a fresh avenue for the group to connect with their fans, distinct from their official group account. Through Instagram Stories, the members personally confirmed the authenticity of the account, promising to engage with it regularly.
For their debut post, NewJeans showcased their philanthropic spirit by announcing that they had pre-paid food at various restaurants and a café. Any K-pop fan with a light stick participating in the impeachment protest could enjoy the treat, showcasing the group’s solidarity and thoughtfulness.

The launch of this account also comes amidst NewJeans’ legal battle with their former agency, ADOR. On November 29, the group revealed their decision to terminate their contracts with ADOR, citing breaches of agreement and the agency’s failure to address the issues. The announcement followed an emergency press conference on November 28, where the members publicly outlined their grievances, emphasizing their frustration over ADOR’s lack of response.
In response, ADOR also filed a lawsuit on December 3 with the Seoul Central District Court, seeking to validate their exclusive contracts. This legal move also intensified public debate over the agency’s handling of the situation.
