SEVENTEEN’s Wonwoo is set to begin his mandatory military service next month.
SEVENTEEN’s Wonwoo to Enlist in the Military on April 3
On March 5, PLEDIS Entertainment officially announced that Wonwoo will be enlisting in the military on April 3. While the agency did not disclose specific details about his enlistment location or unit, they requested fans’ understanding regarding a quiet enlistment without any special events to ensure a smooth process.
“We would like to share the news that Wonwoo of SEVENTEEN will be starting his mandatory military service from April 3 this year,” the statement read. “As such, he will not be able to attend any of SEVENTEEN’s engagements after his enlistment, including the upcoming Tecate Pa’l Norte 2025 festival and Japan fan meeting in April.”
“As announced before, Wonwoo will be participating in the ‘SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND’ concert as scheduled from March 20 to 21 and will be appearing in various pre-recorded content,” it continued.
“There will be no official event on the day of his enlistment, and we kindly request that you refrain from visiting the site of his alternative military service. Please send your heartfelt messages of support for Wonwoo through Weverse,” the statement added. “We ask for your continued love and support for the artist until his safe and healthy return. We will also stay committed to providing Wonwoo with all the necessary support during this time.”
Wonwoo will be the second member of SEVENTEEN to enlist, following Jeonghan, who began his service in September 2024. With SEVENTEEN’s members gradually beginning their military duties, fans are expressing both their pride and sadness as they prepare to temporarily say goodbye.
Despite his upcoming enlistment, Wonwoo has remained active in group promotions, recently participating in SEVENTEEN’s activities and interacting with fans. CARATs around the world are wishing him a safe and healthy service and eagerly anticipating his return in 2026. Stay strong, Wonwoo!
