NCT WISH’s Sakuya recently sustained a minor ankle injury, as confirmed by SM Entertainment on October 5. Unfortunately, this meant that the young idol also performed seated during the 2024 K-Link Festival.
Sakuya Performed Seated Due to Injury
On October 5, the agency shared that Sakuya had injured his ankle and, as a result, would be seated during the group’s performance at the 2024 K-Link Festival later that day.
Initially, SM Entertainment considered having Sakuya sit out of the performance entirely to ensure his recovery. However, due to Sakuya’s strong desire to meet his fans in person, they allowed him to participate while remaining seated. His commitment to his fans, even during an injury, has also touched many, showing his dedication and passion for performing.
“Today, Sakuya suffered a minor injury to his ankle, so he will be performing seated during [NCT WISH’s] scheduled performance at the K-Link Festival,” the statement read.
“Because we thought it would be best for Sakuya not to participate in a performance that includes excessive movement, we planned to have Sakuya sit out this performance,” it added. “However, due to the artist’s wish to meet his fans in person, it was ultimately decided that he would perform seated, so we ask for fans’ generous understanding in regards to the fact that this decision was made based on the artist’s own wishes.”
Fans have also been quick to send their well-wishes, hoping for a speedy recovery for the idol. As Sakuya takes time to heal, NCT WISH continues to receive love and support from their dedicated fanbase.
Get well soon, Sakuya! Fans are also looking forward to seeing him fully recovered and back on stage.
NCT Wish is currently promoting their first EP ‘Steady’ as well as the title track of the same name which were both released on September 24, 2024.
