61st Baeksang Arts Awards Hosts Announced
On April 9, it was officially confirmed that Park Bo Gum, Suzy, and Shin Dong Yup will once again reunite as the hosts for the highly anticipated 61st Baeksang Arts Awards, one of South Korea’s most prestigious award ceremonies. The event is set to take place on May 5 at 8 p.m. KST and will be broadcast live via JTBC.
7th Time’s The Charm
This year marks Shin Dong Yup’s 11th time hosting the ceremony since he began in the 50th Baeksang Arts Awards, having only missed one year (2017). Known for his wit and impeccable comedic timing, Shin Dong Yup is also nominated for Best Male Entertainer in the TV/Drama category. Having previously won at both the 30th and 50th ceremonies, fans are eager to see if he will secure his third win this year.
Suzy also celebrates a major milestone—her 10th consecutive year as host of the Baeksang Arts Awards, making her the first in the event’s history to reach this achievement without missing a single year. After sweeping the Best New Actress awards in both TV and film categories earlier in her career, Suzy made her hosting debut at the 52nd ceremony in 2016, and has been a beloved and graceful presence ever since.
Park Bo Gum, returning for his seventh time as an MC, first hosted the Baeksang Arts Awards at the 54th ceremony. Though he took a break during the 57th ceremony for his military service, he resumed his hosting duties at the 58th edition, marking his first public appearance after discharge. This year, he is also nominated for Best Actor in the TV/Drama category for his role in Netflix’s “When Life Gives You Tangerines”, adding excitement as both a host and a nominee.
