“BATTER UP” Hits 50M Views in Under 5 Days

The debut music video for “BATTER UP” was initially unveiled on November 27 at midnight KST, achieving the 50 million views milestone in just under 4 days and 8 hours. The accomplishment solidifies BABYMONSTER’s position as the fastest K-pop group debut to reach the 50 million views mark, surpassing the previous record set by aespa’s debut hit “Black Mamba,” which took approximately 5 days and 23 hours in 2020.

BABYMONSTER originally comprises seven members, namely Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rami, Rora, and Chiquita. The selection process for the group members was documented in the reality show “Last Evaluation”, filmed the previous year. The final lineup reflects the multinational nature of BABYMONSTER, comprising three South Korean members (Ahyeon, Rami, Rora), two Japanese members (Ruka, Asa), and two Thai members (Pharita, Chiquita).

For now, BABYMONSTER is also promoting with only six members. Ahyeon, initially reported to have departed from the group due to health reasons, was confirmed to remain part of the lineup. She would temporarily exclude herself from debut activities to focus on her recovery. For now, it is still unclear when Ahyeon will join group activities.

The rapid success of “BATTER UP” and the accompanying achievement on YouTube showcase the group’s strong debut impact and growing popularity in the competitive K-pop landscape. As fans eagerly engage with BABYMONSTER’s content, the group’s record-breaking performance also signals a promising start to their journey in the K-pop industry. Congratulations to BABYMONSTER on this remarkable milestone, and fans can look forward to witnessing their continued success.
