Popular K-pop trainee Beomhan continues to engage with fans since leaving FM Entertainment, his long-term company, in September 2023. Despite not having officially debuted, Beomhan has built a significant fanbase. In fact, he has over 2 million followers on TikTok alone. His live broadcasts on Instagram and Twitch, where he showcases his fun, relatable personality, have further bolstered his reputation.
The termination of his contract with FM Entertainment last year surprised many, especially because it came at a time when fans were already concerned for his well-being. Beomhan had been vocal about his mental health struggles in his broadcasts. He also became the target of a hate crime, received intense backlash over his comments regarding idols’ dating lives, and was hounded by rumors of plastic surgery. Given these challenges, no one would have blamed him if he had decided to step away from the idol life.
However, in a recent TikTok update, Beomhan reassured fans that he remains a K-pop trainee. During what he described as a “K-pop tea time” session, he shared insights into his current situation and reflected on his three-year odyssey as a trainee. He highlighted his achievements, including touring the world, releasing music, and hosting fan events.

Beomhan took a bold step
Beomhan candidly discussed the realities of being a trainee, revealing that, unlike debuted idols, he received no payment for his efforts. This lack of income led him to take a bold step towards independence in the music industry.
Now an independent artist, Beomhan is self-funding his career, partly through merchandise sales. The money he saved enabled him to enroll in dance classes and hire a choreographer, videographer, and vocal coach. This investment in his talents culminated in the release of his first single, “Me, Myself, and I,” on January 31.
