Ha Sung Woon Agency Responds to ‘Love Next Door’ OST Plagiarism Allegations

Ha Sung Woon’s agency, Big Planet Made Entertainment, has addressed the recent plagiarism controversy surrounding his “Love Next Door” OST “What are we”. According to the company, the artist should not be involved in any of the issues.

The ‘Love Next Door’ OST Plagiarism Allegations

On October 4, netizens began pointing out striking similarities between Ha Sung Woon’s track and Baek Yerin’s 2019 song “0310,” leading to accusations of plagiarism.

Baek Yerin, who composed and wrote “0310,” took to Instagram to express her frustration. In a now-deleted post, she wrote, “It must suck to copy. Feel bad. If you want a song like mine, please ask me so.” She also shared multiple fan reactions through Instagram Stories, including comments like “Why do I hear ‘0310’?” and “Is it okay to release a remake without the original artist knowing?”

As the controversy grew, Big Planet Made Entertainment released an official statement addressing the situation. They also clarified that they were looking into the matter and working to resolve it appropriately.

“Both Ha Sung Woon and Big Planet Made Entertainment participated solely as a vocalist for the OST at the request of the drama’s production company and had no involvement in the songwriting, composition, or arrangement of ‘What are we,’” the statement read.

Nonetheless, we deeply regret that the OST sung by Ha Sung Woon has become embroiled in a plagiarism dispute and caused concern among fans,” it added. “We would like to reiterate that Ha Sung Woon is not involved in this plagiarism issue, and we hope for an amicable resolution between Baek Yerin and the OST production company.”

“Love Next Door”, starring Jung Hae-in and Jung So-min, has garnered attention not only for its plot but now also due to this OST controversy. The drama is also available for streaming on Netflix in selected regions, adding to the global visibility of the issue.
