Jisoo’s Agency Shares Statement About Birthday-Related Posts
On December 31, her agency, BLISSOO, shared the news via social media. “In respect to the national tragedy, all planned activities, including birthday content for Jisoo’s January 3 celebration, will be postponed,” the statement read.
“We extend our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to all the victims and their families affected by the tragic passenger plane crash over the weekend. We pray for the repose of the deceased,” it added.
The decision aligns with the somber mood across South Korea as the nation mourns the devastating loss of 179 lives in the plane crash on December 29. Jeju Air Flight 7C2216, traveling from Thailand, tragically collided with the outer wall of Muan International Airport, leaving only two survivors with severe injuries. The government declared a national mourning period from December 29 to January 4, prompting individuals and organizations to adjust their schedules in a show of respect and solidarity. This includes any promotions or celebrations
Despite the postponement, Jisoo also remains active in her flourishing acting career. Her upcoming projects include the highly anticipated Coupang Play drama “Newtopia,” which premieres on February 7, 2025. The upcoming series also recently shared new stills featuring the BLACKPINK member as a woman desperately trying to reunite with her boyfriend in the middle of a zombie outbreak.
She is also set to captivate audiences in the film “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint” and the drama “Monthly Boyfriend.” Jisoo’s projects will also be released later in 2025. Fans have also expressed understanding and admiration for Jisoo’s thoughtful decision during this difficult time.
