Block B Announces Surprise Reunion for Special Event

Block B, the popular third-generation boy group, is set to surprise fans with a surprise reunion after two years.

Block B Set for Surprise Reunion on ‘The Seasons’ With Zico

On August 22, it was reported that all seven members—Taeil, Jaehyo, B-Bomb, U-Kwon, Park Kyung, P.O., and Zico—will reunite to record a special episode of KBS 2TV’s “The Seasons — Zico’s Artist” in early September. This reunion will mark the final episode of the program, making it an especially significant moment for both the group and their fans.

The decision to come together for this performance was reportedly made by mutual agreement among the members, who wanted to support Zico, their bandmate, and the show’s host. This appearance will be the first time that Block B has performed as a full group since 2022, when they took the stage together at the Marine Corps Band’s 28th regular concert.

Block B Through The Years

Black B debuted in 2011 with the single “Freeze!” and immediately had people talking with their sexually provocative performances. The group scored numerous hits but have mellowed down when the members began their mandatory military service in 2018.

Despite currently being affiliated with different agencies, the members of Block B have also maintained close ties, often showing up for each other both personally and professionally. Just last month, the group also made headlines when they gathered for a meal, sharing the reunion with fans on social media. Zico, while hosting “The Seasons — Zico’s Artist”, also expressed his desire to greet fans as Block B once again, making this upcoming reunion all the more special.

For fans who have been eagerly awaiting new content from Block B, this surprise reunion on “The Seasons — Zico’s Artist” promises to be an emotional and nostalgic moment, as the group takes the stage together once more.

Block B’s P.O. Officially Discharged From The Marine Corps

P.O. has finally completed his military service. The Block B member has officially been discharged from the Marine Corps. In addition to that, it looks like Pyo Jihoon is gearing up for a group comeback and some new acting gigs in the future.

Block B Member P.O. Has Completed Military Service

On September 27, P.O marked a significant milestone as he officially completed his 1-year and 6-month military service, holding the rank of sergeant. His military journey began on March 28, 2022, when he enlisted and joined the Marine Corps, serving as a member of the military band.

Expressing his joy and gratitude, P.O took to Instagram to announce his discharge, calling it a “happy moment” in his life. “Jihoon has finally completed his military service,” he wrote. “It’s admirable and impressive, aren’t we all feeling the same way?”

Fans are truly proud of Pyo Jihoon and there is an important reason why he was so determined to enlist for military service. Back in June, the musician pleasantly surprised his fans by making an appearance on the “National Defense News” YouTube channel. During the interview, he shared updates about his military service and revealed the heartfelt reason behind his decision to enlist – fulfilling his late mother’s wish.

Pyo Jihoon’s path to military service was not without its challenges. He had applied to join the Marine Corps three times, from the ages of 27 to 29, facing setbacks due to his previous school attendance issues caused by his debut in the entertainment industry. However, he persevered, eventually securing a spot in the military band. Reflecting on his journey, P.O described his time in the military as an invaluable experience that he believes every Korean man should undergo at least once in their lifetime.

P.O, who debuted as part of Block B in 2011, was the last member of the group to complete his military service. His return has ignited excitement among his fellow Block B members and fans, raising hopes for a potential group comeback in the near future.

More about Block B

In 2011, the seven-member boy group debuted under Stardom Entertainment. But in August 203, they moved to another agency, Seven Seasons, after a legal dispute with their initial label.

Since then, BLOCK B has released numerous hits including “Nilili Mambo,” “HER,” “Very Good,” “Toy,” and “Jackpot.”

However, in 2018, the group’s leader Zico left the company and established his own label, KOZ Entertainment. Then, he gained popularity as a solo artist with his hit tracks like “Any Song,” and“Okey Dokey. One of his most viral song is  the Street Man Fighter single “New Thing.”

In 2021, P.O. also parted ways with Seven Seasons after the expiration of his contract. Shortly after, he signed with a new label Artist Company

Meanwhile, members Jaehyo, B-Bomb and U-Kwon did not renew their contracts with the agency as well after its expiration in January 2023. As of writing, only Taeil and Park Kyung are under Seven Seasons.

With the group’s current set-up and enlistment hiatus, Block B has not released new music in more than five years. They had their last full-group comeback in 2018 with the album Re: MONTAGE.
