CNBLUE Confirms 1st Comeback In 3 Years

Get ready for CNBLUE’s long-awaited return! The pop rock back is getting ready for their first comeback in 3 years!

CNBLUE Set For 1st Comeback in 3 Years With ‘X’

On September 23 at midnight KST, CNBLUE excited fans by officially unveiling the schedule for their highly anticipated comeback, which will mark their first release in three years. The band will be dropping their 10th mini album ‘X’ on October 14 at 6 p.m. KST, setting the stage for their triumphant return to the music scene.

Earlier this year, CNBLUE delighted their fanbase by debuting a new official light stick. On June 10, they released photos showcasing the sleek design of their light stick, along with leader Jung Yong Hwa’s custom emblem, which added a personal touch to the merchandise. The unveiling of the light stick also served as a teaser of their ongoing plans, sparking excitement for their eventual comeback.

Formed in 2009, CNBLUE quickly rose to fame and has remained one of Korea’s most beloved bands. The current lineup consists of Jung Yong Hwa (leader, main vocals, guitar, keyboard, rap), Kang Min Hyuk (drums), and Lee Jung Shin (bass). Over the years, CNBLUE has seen changes in its lineup, with bassist Kwon Kwang Jin leaving shortly after their debut in Japan and being replaced by Lee Jung Shin. In 2019, guitarist and vocalist Lee Jong Hyun also departed from the band.

CNBLUE’s name also carries a meaningful message: CN stands for Code Name, while BLUE is a backronym that represents the members’ traits—“Burning” for Jong Hyun, “Lovely” for Min Hyuk, “Untouchable” for Jung Shin, and “Emotional” for Yong Hwa. The group made a splash with their Korean debut on January 14, 2010, with the hit single “I’m a Loner” from their first Korean EP ‘Bluetory’.

Fans are also eagerly counting down the days to the release of ‘X’, excited to see CNBLUE’s musical evolution after their three-year hiatus.

CNBLUE’s Yonghwa Recalls ‘We Got Married’ Stint With SNSD’s Seohyun

Rejoice, Goguma couple shippers! Yonghwa of CNBLUE has just gifted their fans some crumbs from his and SNSD’s Seohyun’s virtual marriage on the reality variety show We Got Married.

On Monday, September 11, the vocalist appeared as a guest on MC Kangnam’s Youtube show My Neighborhood Friend Kangnami. In the episode, Kangnam brought back Yonghwa’s previous work with the youngest member of SNSD.

In 2010, Yonghwa and Seohyun, or the YoungSeo couple, acted as newlyweds for We Got Married. Nicknamed as “Goguma couple” (sweet potato couple), the two idols garnered popularity and support due to their enthralling chemistry.

During their We Got Married stint, the two gained attention for their supposed innocent love as Seohyun didn’t have romantic relationships prior to that.

Additionally, the YoungSeo couple were also known for being musically-inclined. With this, the two even composed their own song and performed it in front of a crowd.

Unsurprisingly, fans even rooted for the couple’s relationship in real life.

Yonghwa looks back on his YoungSeo stint

Reminiscing about the past, Yonghwa revealed that despite people thinking it was all an act, their “marriage” was largely unscripted.

Moreover, the singer also unveiled the story behind their lost “couple ring.” Yonghwa clarified that his viral clip of searching for the ring during a live performance on Music Core was real.

“It’s really real. The ring I bought with Seohyun at a fancy stationery store was cheap. So it easily corroded and it fell. But I didn’t lose it. As soon as the stage was over, I searched for it and that is what came out,” he said in the show.

On social media, fans of the virtual couple expressed their excitement on having the YoungSeo days being talked about. Especially since it’s been nearly 13 years since Yonghwa and Seohyun starred in the series.
