DAWN Clears Out Instagram Feed Including HyunA’s Photos

DAWN’s Instagram feed had previously displayed 1,095 posts. However, after several posts were deleted, it now shows only 15, all related to his solo work.

DAWN has not publicly explained the reason behind this sudden change, but K-Pop fans speculate it could be connected to the recent news of HyunA’s upcoming wedding with Yong Junhyung.

In the past, DAWN mentioned that he and HyunA had agreed to keep their couple photos on their social media platforms even after a breakup. They both tried to honor this promise initially. However, it appears that DAWN has reconsidered and decided to clear his Instagram of those memories.

HyunA, on the other hand, has kept some pictures featuring DAWN public, though she admitted to deleting a few for the aesthetic of her feed. During an episode of Jeon Somi’s talk show, HyunA revealed that she had informed DAWN that he should do as he wished with his feed, giving him the freedom to manage his social media as he saw fit.

This significant change in DAWN’s Instagram activity has sparked discussions among fans and followers. Many are interpreting this move as a way for DAWN to start fresh and focus on his career and future endeavors. Dawn Quietly Begins His Military Enlistment

K-pop singer Dawn surprised his fans as he announced on Thursday, October 12, that he will be starting his mandatory enlistment on the same day.

In his personal Instagram account, the singer delivered the news and apologized to his fans for the sudden notice.

“I am carrying out my compulsory military duty through alternative service from today”, he said. Moreover, he also explained his decision, saying: “I wanted to enlist quietly, so please forgive me for not announcing it in advance.”

Furthermore, Dawn took the chance to express his gratitude to his supporters. “I sincerely thank the fans for their generous support, and I promise to return healthy after completing my duties,” he mentioned.

Additionally, AT AREA, the singer’s agency, confirmed the announcement. 

According to several Korean media reports, Dawn will carry out his public service as a social worker due to health concerns. As the singer has been suffering from myopia for a long time, reports explained that this may have resulted in his alternative service judgment.

A recap of the 2023 activities of Dawn

Before embarking on his solo journey, Dawn initially made his debut under the boy group Pentagon. The idol, whose former stage name was E’Dawn, left both the band and its agency, CUBE Entertainment in 2018.

In 2019, the “Dear My Light” singer signed with P Nation where he gained more recognition for his duo act with ex-girlfriend, HyunA. The former couple was known for their bold music and unrivaled visual performances, particularly their collaborative track “Ping Pong”.

In January, Dawn started afresh with AT AREA after parting ways with the PSY-led label in August 2022. Since then, the singer has worked on individual projects under his new home. In fact, Dawn even gifted fans with new music before enlisting. 

On September 15, the artist dropped his studio album Narcissus. Said album consists of eight songs including the double title track “Heart” and “Star,” with singer-songwriter 10CM featured in the latter.

Moreover, Narcissus also contained several songs featuring other artists such as pH-1 for the track “Fallin’”, GEMINI for “Seasons”, and Kim Sawol for the track “Memory.” 

As for his personal life, Dawn ended his engagement with fellow artist Hyuna in November 2022. Although in an April 2023 interview, he opened up that he still loves her. 

With his temporary break in the music scene, fans can only wait patiently for his return.

DAWN Says He Is Still ‘In Love With HyunA’

DAWN took part in the 1theK Original’s “Look Me Up” where he opened up about his relationship with HyunA. Although they have broken up in November, the “Money” rapper confirmed they continue to be supportive of each other’s careers.

“We will support each other no matter what kind of choice is made,” DAWN said. “Even now and at that time, I wanted to fully respect her choice and support her by pressing ‘Like’ (on the Instagram post announcing their breakup).”

HyunA confirmed her break up with DAWN in an emotional Instagram post in November 2022. Still, the former PENTAGON member confessed that he loves his ex-girlfriend dearly.

“I’m the same actually,” DAWN replied when asked if he still loves the former WONDER GIRLS member.

“Whether I break up with HyunA or get back with her, it doesn’t matter what we are, I just love HyunA as a person,” he added. “So, even if we take totally different paths and end up with other people in the future, I’ll still be in love with HyunA.”

DAWN further explained their rumored engagement, stating that it was a misunderstanding.

“We were not planning to get married or anything. I didn’t propose to her to get married,” he said. “It was just because I like her so much. Of course, I had the idea that she would be the person I marry if I get married in the future but at that time, I just wanted to give her a ring. I just wanted to.”

He continued, “Common sense is that if you give someone a ring, you’re engaged, it’s natural. But I’m actually lacking common sense.”

DAWN’s new single “Dear My Light” was released on April 13, 2023.
