Dreamcatcher to Begin a New Chapter as Three Members Part Ways with Dreamcatcher Company

On March 10, Dreamcatcher Company released an official statement regarding the exclusive contracts of the members. According to the agency, Handong, Dami, and Gahyeon have decided to part ways with the company following the expiration of their contracts. However, despite this change, the agency reassured fans that all seven members will continue to promote together as Dreamcatcher, maintaining their group activities.

“After long and in-depth discussions, Dreamcatcher Company, along with Handong, Dami, and Gahyeon, have decided to respect each other’s decision and mutually agreed to not renew their contracts. Although our formal relationship with them will come to an end, we have decided to continue working together for their activities as Dreamcatcher based on mutual affection and deep trust in the group,” the statement read.

“We would like to express our gratitude to Handong, Dami, and Gahyeon for their dedication to all their activities at Dreamcatcher Company over the past eight years, and we sincerely support their future endeavors. We also want to thank all the fans who have continuously shown unwavering love by their side,” it continued.

“Additionally, this year, the company will actively support JiU, SuA, Siyeon, and Yoohyeon in their various activities. JiU, SuA, and Yoohyeon will engage in unit activities, while Siyeon will pursue band activities, showcasing new sides of themselves to fans. We kindly ask for your great interest, love, and support for the unit and band activities as well as the new journeys ahead for Handong, Dami, and Gahyeon,” the statement concluded.

On July 21, Dreamcatcher Company announced that Gahyeon would now be spelling her name as “Gahyun.” While the romanization has been adjusted, the Korean spelling and pronunciation of her name remain unchanged.

“We are making an announcement regarding a change in Dreamcatcher member Gahyeon’s English stage name,” the statement started. “After discussing the matter with Gahyeon, we plan to begin using the English name ‘Gahyun’ instead of the previously used ‘Gahyeon’ starting from July 21, 2024.”
