KARA’s Heo Young Ji has officially parted ways with DSP Media after 10 years of collaboration. The announcement comes almost a year after she made her solo debut.

Heo Youngji Parts Ways With DSP Media

On September 5, the agency released a statement confirming the conclusion of their exclusive contract with the artist, marking the end of an era.

“First, we would like to extend our gratitude to the fans who have shown unwavering love and support for Heo Young Ji,” it read. “We would like to inform you that our exclusive contract with Heo Young Ji, who has been with us for the past 10 years through a bond of exceptional trust, has come to an end.”

We sincerely thank Heo Young Ji for bringing positive energy both on and off stage as one of our artists, and we will continue to support her future endeavors,” it added.

The statement concludes, “We ask for your continued love and support as Heo Young Ji embarks on a new journey.”

Heo Young Ji first rose to fame in 2014 through DSP Media’s reality show “KARA Project”, which was created to find a new member for KARA after Nicole Jung and Kang Ji-young’s departure from the group. Her victory cemented her place as the new member of KARA, and she pledged to work even harder as part of the legendary K-pop group.

After years of being with KARA and contributing to their success, Heo Young Ji made her solo debut in September 2023 with the release of her first single album ‘Toi Toi Toi’, featuring the title track “L.O.V.E.”

As Heo Young Ji moves on from DSP Media, fans are excited to see where her new journey will take her and continue to support her in her future endeavors.
