Shared anonymously on an internet forum, the post about the EXO member ignited a flurry of discussions among netizens, who were both intrigued by the rumored sighting and puzzled by the circumstances surrounding it.

Given the strict regulations and limited freedom typically associated with military service, netizens couldn’t help but question how Sehun seemingly had the liberty to dine out with his alleged girlfriend in a public place.

Kai and Sehun Attend EXO Fan Meeting as Audience Members

EXO just held their 12th anniversary fan meeting with six members onstage but it looks like concertgoers were in great company. Kai and Sehun have just been revealed to be in the audience supporting the rest of the group and enjoying the show with EXO-Ls.

Kai and Sehun Make Surprise Appearance at EXO Fan Meeting

On April 14, EXO held their 12th anniversary fan meeting ‘2024 EXO FAN MEETING : ONE‘ at the Incheon Yeongjongdo Inspire Arena. The fan meeting was split into two sessions and during the second session, two familiar faces were spotted in the audience.

During his ment, leader Suho pointed out that Kai and Sehun had messages for EXO-Ls who would be attending the fan meeting. As he spoke, he singled out the two youngest members of the group, who were revealed to be in the audience. Fellow member Baekhyun even jokingly scolded their maknae for sitting lazily and told him not to cross his legs.

It certainly confirms that the EXO members are ready to support each other despite their busy schedules. Although Kai and Sehun were unable to perform with the rest of the group, they found the time to attend the fan meeting to support their hyungs and make Eris smile.

Although the maknaes did not perform during the 12th anniversary fan meeting, Suho dropped a major teaser during the event. According the Kim Junmyeon, EXO is preparing to embark on their next world tour once Sehun and Kai have fulfilled their mandatory military service. This could mean that their next full group comeback and concert tour will be sometime in 2025.

In the meantime, EXO members have been busy with their solo endeavors. Baekhyun is currently on his ‘LONSDALEITE’ solo tour while D.O. is preparing for his next solo comeback. Additionally, Suho recently announced with solo fan tour across Asia.

EXO’s Sehun to Enlist in Military on December 21

Sehun of K-pop boy group EXO has announced that he will be starting his mandatory military service on December 21. 

In a handwritten letter posted on Weverse on December 13, the singer told fans about the news. “I feel sorry for delivering the news to EXO-L (EXO’s official fan club) so late,” he wrote, according to a translation by Soompi. 

“These days, I’ve been spending time alone, looking after myself and deeply contemplating. As a result, I’m greeting you like this [through a letter] without standing in front of you,” Sehun added. 

Reflecting on his solitude and introspection, the EXO member conveyed his regret at not being able to bid farewell to his fans in person. With this, he expressed his gratitude for the constant support of his fans. “I am really thankful to everyone who cares for me,” he wrote. 

Moreover, Sehun also assured his fans that he’ll stay safe during his service and will return as a better person. “I hope everyone stays healthy until the day we meet again. I will come back in good health,” he concluded his post. 

With Sehun being the youngest member of the group, he’ll be the last member of EXO to enlist.

Other EXO members, including Xiumin, D.O., Suho, Chen, Chanyeol, and Baekhyun, have all completed their respective mandatory military service. Meanwhile, Kai enlisted in May.

Both Kai and Sehun are expected to finish their services by 2025. 

Sehun in 2023

Prior to announcing his enlistment, Sehun has been busy with sub-unit activities with Chanyeol for EXO-SC. In the first half of 2023, the duo embarked on their Back to Back fan concert tour, which had several stops across Asia. 

Aside from idol activities, Sehun was also busy with acting as he starred in the series All That We Loved. 

As for group activities, EXO made their highly-anticipated comeback in July with the seventh full-length album EXIST. Said album served as EXO’s first album as a full-group in two years, following the extended play Don’t Fight This Feeling that was released in June 2021. 

On top of that, EXO also released the fourth season of their hit variety show Travel the World on a Ladder. 

In October, it was rumored that Sehun and Chanyeol will be moving to another agency. But SM Entertainment was quick to deny the news.

SM Entertainment Denies That EXO’s Sehun and Chanyeol Moved to Another Agency

SM Entertainment has refuted reports that EXO members Sehun and Chanyeol have signed with a different agency for their solo activities. 

On Tuesday, October 17, South Korean news outlet SBS reported that Sehun and Chanyeol, who’s also known as sub-unit EXO-SC, have signed with a different label to pursue more individual activities. 

According to the report, the unnamed agency was founded by Jung Hoon Tak, the former CEO of the entertainment agency iHQ. Furthermore, it also claimed that Sehun and Chanyeol will still continue their group activities with EXO under SM Entertainment. 

In response, the label announced that Sehun and Chanyeol transferred to another agency. “The contracts that EXO members signed with SM Entertainment at the end of last year remain valid,” the agency added. 

However, the label noted that they have reached a conditional agreement with the EXO members in terms of their plans of pursuing solo activities. Which, they explained, is only possible if the idol “proceed through their own established companies if they wish.” 

As of writing, Sehun and Chanyeol have yet to address the issue. 

EXO and SM Entertainment in 2023

The news about Sehun and Chanyeol’s status as an artist of SM Entertainment came four months after their fellow EXO members Baekhyun, Xiumin, and Chen also had a dispute with the agency. 

In June, the EXO-CBX sub-unit filed to terminate their contracts with the agency over alleged “mistreatment and unfair contract terms.” The EXO-CBX sub-unit cited unclear handling of earnings and slave contracts as their motivation. 

At the time, SM Entertainment had refuted claims made by the three EXO members. After a three-week legal battle, it was announced that both parties have reached a settlement. 

In July, EXO released their seventh full-length album EXIST. To note, it served as EXO’s first album as a full-group in two years.

Originally a 12-piece act, EXO made their debut in April 2012. Chinese members Kris, Tao, and Luhan have left the group, while Lay left SM Entertainment in April 2022. 

EXO is known for songs “Growl,” “Monster,” “Love Shot,” Overdose,” and “Tempo.”

Chanyeol and Sehun recently completed the EXO-SC ‘Back-To-Back’ fan concerts. During a recent stop in Manila, the EXO members spoke with the press to answer some burning questions.

At one point, the idols were asked about the key to a long-lasting career. Both Chanyeol and Sehun agreed that it is important to just have fun.

“If we considered this as a job, we might have worn out a long time ago,” they said. “But because of the relationships between the members, I think we’re a family and very close friends, that’s why we’re having so much fun.”

The idols also shared some interesting secrets about themselves. Chanyeol shared his personal pre-stage preparations.

“Before taking the stage, I always warm up my voice and stretch, and most importantly, I pray before performing,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sehun admitted that he truly admires his hyung. When asked if there was anything that Chanyeol possessed that he wanted for himself, the EXO maknae‘s answer was simple.

“I want to have everything of him,” Sehun confessed. For his part, Chanyeol joked that he didn’t want anything that his dongsaeng possesses. However, he later admitted he admires Sehun’s manliness.

But what did the members of EXO-SC think when it was announced they would be a subunit? Sehun said he initially thought it was a joke.

“At first, I think, it wasn’t serious, but it really was real,” he said. Sehun then confessed he wants to continue working with his hyung on their subunit.

“Of course, I’m looking forward to doing more activities with Chanyeol in the future,” he said.

EXO is currently preparing for their next comeback without Kai, who recently enlisted for military service.

TVING shared the main poster for “All That We Loved” which features the three main characters of the upcoming drama. EXO’s Sehun takes centerstage as Go Yoo, the high school basketball star who donates a kidney to his best friend Go Hoon Hee (Jo Joon Young). Jang Yeo Bin‘s Han Seo Yoon rounds out the trio with her own sweet charm.

“All That We Loved” is a romance drama following best friends Goo Yoo and Go Joon Hee. Despite being polar opposites as the basketball star and top student, the boys begin to resemble each other after Goo Yoo donates a kidney to Go Joon Hee. The kidney gives Go Joon Hee cellular memory syndrome and they both fall in love with Han Seo Yoon.

Cellular memory syndrome is the hypothesis that one can acquire the personality, habits, and memories of their organ donor. After receiving a kidney from Goo Yoo, Go Joon Hee begins to resemble his best friend. When Go Yoo develops feelings for Han Seo Yoon, Go Joon Hee exhibits the same feelings as well.

Sehun has been busy since the beginning of April. In addition to playing one of the leads in “All That We Loved”, Oh Sehun reunited with the other members of EXO for a special fan meeting. The group celebrated their 11th debut anniversary with the 2023 Exo Fanmeeting ‘Exo’ Clock. The special fan meeting was held at the KSPO Dome on April 8 to 9, 2023.

The first two episodes of “All That We Loved” were released on April 5, 2023.
