NANA Takes Legal Action Against YouTuber Gu Je Yeok

Nana has taken a strong stand against YouTuber Gu Je Yeok, revealing that she is pursuing legal action in response to his recent allegations.

‘Mask Girl’ Star Announces Legal Action Against Controversial YouTuber

On August 24, the actress and singer made a public statement on social media, asserting her decision to file a lawsuit. She stated, “I have filed a lawsuit. I will respond firmly without leniency. The same goes for those spreading malicious comments. If you have chosen me to make a provocative issue out of, I will show you that it was a very wrong choice. Gu Je Yeok? How would you know me? You’ve messed with the wrong person.”

Nana’s response comes after Gu Je Yeok, a controversial figure associated with the notorious YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute, made baseless claims about her in a previous video. In the video, Gu Je Yeok alleged that Nana had offered drugs to his friends during a conversation with Kim Sae Ee. These accusations have sparked outrage among Nana’s fans and have prompted her to take decisive legal action to defend her reputation.

Gu Je Yeok, who is no stranger to controversy, is already facing charges for threatening and extorting money from another YouTuber Tzuyang. His involvement in these scandals has only heightened public scrutiny of his actions and further tarnished his image.

Amidst this legal battle, Nana remains focused on her career. She is currently filming for the highly anticipated movie “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint”, showcasing her commitment to her professional endeavors despite the ongoing turmoil. The movie has not yet been given an official release date.

Nana’s firm response serves as a warning to those who attempt to tarnish her image, signaling her determination to protect her integrity both legally and publicly. Fans are rallying behind her, expressing their support as she navigates this challenging situation.

SM Entertainment’s Alleged Approach to Gu Je Yeok for Marketing Strategy

Lee Jin Ho reveals that SM Entertainment allegedly contacted the controversial YouTuber Gu Je Yeok for a viral marketing campaign

YouTube reporter Lee Jin Ho recently claimed that SM Entertainment approached the controversial YouTuber Gu Je Yeok for a viral marketing campaign. The allegations come after SM Entertainment was accused of using viral marketing tactics against HYBE and manipulating public opinion. SM clarified that its marketing was intended to protect management rights and communicate the company’s stance to shareholders.

Although SM Entertainment stated they declined a proposal to involve YouTube cyber “wreckers,” Lee Jin Ho revealed that specific YouTubers, including Gu Je Yeok, were already chosen for the campaign. Gu Je Yeok, known for his threats against Mukbang YouTuber Tzuyang, confirmed that he received such a proposal. After the offer, he released a video with sensitive content about a person not on good terms with SM, which was quickly taken down due to backlash.

Korean netizens reacted with mixed opinions, with some questioning Lee Jin Ho’s credibility, citing his history of supporting HYBE and criticizing GFriend during their disbandment. Others focused on the fact that SM Entertainment was caught using viral marketing, while some worried that the situation might lead to misunderstandings about HYBE’s involvement.

Korean netizens left comments like:

“Lee Jin Ho is at it again, haha. He tries to make HYBE look good, but I remember him beating down GFriend. From then on, his credibility has been zero. It’s so obvious whose side he’s on.”

“The fact is that SM got caught doing viral marketing, right? But looking at the comments, it seems like people might misunderstand and think that HYBE got caught doing it. That’s just baseless speculation without any evidence, isn’t it?”

“Isn’t Lee Jin Ho a well-known HYBE supporter? He even criticized GFRIEND when they disbanded.”

Prosecutors to Seek Arrest Warrants for Gu Je Yeok and Jeon Guk Jin

Prosecutors are seeking arrest warrants for YouTubers Gu Je Yeok, legally named Lee Jun Hee, and Jeon Guk Jin on charges of extortion, blackmail, and coercion against fellow YouTuber Tzuyang. The Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office has requested these warrants from the Suwon District Court, aiming to hold both individuals accountable for their alleged roles in a scheme that has rocked the online community.

YouTubers Gu Je Yeok and Jeon Guk Jin face serious charges of extortion, blackmail, and coercion against fellow YouTuber Tzuyang

Gu Je Yeok and Jeon Guk Jin, often referred to as “cyber-wreckers” for their actions, allegedly profited by spreading damaging rumors and exploiting well-known figures online. In February 2023, Gu Je Yeok reportedly extorted 55 million KRW (approximately $39,765) from Tzuyang. In a video posted on July 15, Jeon Guk Jin admitted to receiving 3 million KRW ($2,174) from Gu Je Yeok earlier this year, further implicating himself in the extortion scheme.

The case gained public attention on July 10 when HoverLab Inc., another YouTube channel, released a recording of a phone call between the two cyber wreckers. In this recording, Gu Je Yeok mentioned signing a contract with Tzuyang, in which he agreed not to speak about her past in exchange for the money.

Following the release of this recording, Tzuyang took to a livestream to reveal the extent of the abuse she had suffered. She described how her former boyfriend physically assaulted and threatened her, using illegally filmed videos to blackmail her into compliance.

Prosecutors have moved quickly in this case, conducting search and seizure operations and questioning the suspects. The Suwon District Court will hold hearings for the YouTubers at 10:30 AM on Friday to determine whether to issue the arrest warrants.

As this case continues to unfold, Prosecutor General Lee One Seok has emphasized the importance of taking strong action against those who cause irreparable harm through false accusations, insults, and coercion in cyberspace. He urged prosecutors to proactively seek heavy sentences and ensure that victims like Tzuyang are protected from further harm.
