WOODZ Celebrates National Armed Forces Day on ‘Immortal Song’

Cho Seung Youn, who is known as WOODZ, made a surprise appearance on the October 5 episode of KBS’s “Immortal Song”, marking the National Armed Forces Day with a memorable performance.

The special National Armed Forces Day episode featured WOODZ alongside fellow enlisted singer Jung Seung Hwan, as they delivered a stirring rendition of Lee Juk’s iconic song, “Running Through the Sky.” Their powerful vocals resonated deeply with the audience, which consisted of soldiers who responded with enthusiastic cheers, creating an electrifying atmosphere.

In addition to his duet with Jung Seung Hwan, WOODZ performed his self-composed track, “Drowning,” showcasing his impressive vocal range and songwriting talents. His performance left a strong impression, demonstrating the depth of his artistry even while serving in the military.

Following the episode, WOODZ expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to perform on such a meaningful occasion. He shared, “It was an honor to perform for the National Armed Forces Day special, and I was overwhelmed with emotion to stand on a big stage again after a long time. I will always support the hopeful future of all the military personnel protecting South Korea.”

WOODZ has been serving in the military since January 2024 as part of the Army Band, continuing to make use of his musical talents even during his enlistment. Before joining the military, he left a heartfelt message for his fans, promising to return stronger after completing his service.

“I’ll come back even healthier, so please stay happy and healthy without getting sick, wherever you are. Once again, thank you to MOODZ for always giving me strength and giving me more love than I deserve,” he wrote.

Cho is set to conclude his military duties in July 2025.

His surprise appearance on “Immortal Song” and his heartfelt words to both soldiers and fans demonstrate his continued dedication to his music and his country, solidifying his reputation as a multi-talented artist who can shine in any setting.
