THE BOYZ’s Kevin has issued a heartfelt apology in response to the backlash he received following his appearance at a recent professional baseball game. He also took time to apologize to his fellow member Eric.
Kevin of THE BOYZ Apologizes for Baseball Game Behavior
On April 22, Kevin took to THE BOYZ’s official social media channels to share a sincere apology. He acknowledged his mistake, expressing regret for his thoughtlessness and explaining that he never intended to disrespect the Kiwoom Heroes or their fans. He concluded by promising to be more mindful in the future.
“At the meaningful moment that signaled the start of the game, I should have been focused solely on cheering on the Kiwoom players, but I carelessly mentioned another team, and I am truly sorry to those I offended as a result,” Kevin wrote.
He added, “Through this incident, I learned a lot about how much impact my words and actions can have. I will be more careful in my actions in the future.”
“I am sorry,” Kevin concluded.
What Happened at the Baseball Game?
On April 19, Kevin and fellow THE BOYZ member Eric were invited by the Kiwoom Heroes to take part in the ceremonial first pitch and hit at the KBO League game against the KT Wiz, held at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome. The appearance was also meant to be a celebratory event for fans, but controversy soon followed after a photo circulated online showing Kevin holding up a personal message of support for another team—the Kia Tigers.
In the image, Kevin displayed a message on his phone that read, “I hope the day comes when I get to sing the national anthem in Gwangju, the hometown of the Kia Tigers.” The post then sparked criticism from fans and baseball enthusiasts, who felt it was inappropriate considering he was a guest of the Kiwoom Heroes.
