“Starting from LUN8’s ‘SHOW[K]ASE TOUR EUROPE’, which is scheduled to begin this April, Yuma—who appeared on MBC’s ‘Fantasy Boys’—will be joining [the group’s] official activities as a new member,” the statement read.

“We plan to continue our full-fledged and unsparing support of LUN8 so that they can actively promote,” it added. “We ask that you give lots of interest and support to the LUN8 members and Yuma, who will be joining them.”

Fantagio also confirmed that LUN8 will embark on a European tour from April 26 to May 4. This tour will give fans across the continent a chance to experience the group’s dynamic performances firsthand. Yuma’s addition to the tour will not only underscore the group’s growing international presence but also introduce fresh energy.

Yuma, who first gained attention on the MBC idol survival show “Fantasy Boys” in 2023, will officially join LUN8 starting with the upcoming tour. His inclusion is a strategic move as the group navigates recent lineup changes.

Originally debuting in June 2023 as an eight-member ensemble, LUN8 has undergone significant transitions. Last month, Fantagio announced that member Eunseop would be leaving the group, while Dohyun and Ji Eunho temporarily halted their activities due to health concerns.

The agency expressed their gratitude to fans for their support and understanding during this difficult time, emphasizing that Eunseop’s health remains their top priority.

“Eunseop has been on a break since October due to health concerns and has been fully dedicating himself to recovery,” the statement read. “After thorough and thoughtful discussions during his hiatus, both Eunseop and the company have come to the decision that he will conclude his activities as a member of LUN8.”

In addition, Fantagio shared that Dohyun and Ji Eunho have been experiencing health challenges that require immediate attention. As a result, both members will take a temporary break from group activities to rest and receive proper treatment. The agency assured fans that this decision was made after careful consideration and in consultation with medical professionals, underscoring their commitment to the health and safety of the members.

“Dohyun and Ji Eunho have been experiencing ongoing health issues since the latter part of their recent promotions, leading them to take a period of rest. After thorough discussions with the artists regarding LUN8’s plans for 2025, to prioritize their health above all else, it has been decided that Dohyun and Ji Eunho will temporarily suspend team activities to focus on adequate rest and treatment,” it read.

Fantagio also asked for fans’ continued support for LUN8 and understanding as the group navigates these changes. Tragedy struck the rising South Korean boy band LUN8 as their scheduled activities for the day were abruptly cancelled following a minor car accident involving three of its members.

On December 22, Fantagio shared a statement regarding LUN8’s upcoming activity.

“While on the way to fulfill an initially undisclosed scheduled activity on December 22 (Friday) using two vehicles, a minor collision occurred involving the vehicle carrying LUN8’s Chael, Takuma, and Jun Woo caused by the vehicle behind them,” it read.

“Immediately after the accident, Chael, Takuma, and Jun Woo were promptly transported to the hospital for thorough examinations. The results confirmed that neither the members nor the accompanying staff sustained injuries. However, as a precautionary measure, we would like to inform you that they will be taking a break for stability and rest,” it continued.

Fantagio also confirmed that the members would be unable to attend their previous schedule for “School Attack”.

LUN8, formed by Fantagio in 2023, consists of eight talented individuals: Chael, Jinsu, Takuma, Junwoo, Dohyun, Ian, Ji Eun-ho, and Eunseop. The group made its debut on June 15, 2023, with the extended play “Continue?” and has since been making waves in the competitive K-pop scene.

Who are LUN8?

The journey of LUN8 began with the members’ humble origins as trainees under Fantagio i-Teen, a renowned rookie talent development program. Their hard work and dedication paid off when they officially signed with the Japanese agency HIAN on June 13, 2023, marking the beginning of a promising chapter in their musical careers.

Despite their relatively short time in the industry, LUN8 has demonstrated versatility and unity, showcasing their collective talents through various projects. On November 17, members Takuma, Junwoo, Dohyun, Ji Eun-ho, and Eunseop formed the group’s first unit, Lun8wave. The unit released the single “Playground” on November 22, providing fans with a glimpse of their individual and collaborative abilities.
