ONE HUNDRED Claims KBS Blocked Xiumin ‘Music Bank’ Appearance

EXO’s Xiumin is currently embroiled in a controversy regarding his music show promotions. His agency has claimed that he is being prevented from appearing on KBS’s “Music Bank” due to the broadcasting company’s unresolved dealings with SM Entertainment.

EXO’s Xiumin Faces Alleged Broadcast Ban from KBS’s “Music Bank”; KBS Responds

On March 4, ONE HUNDRED Label, the parent company of Xiumin’s agency INB100, released an official statement alleging unfair treatment.

“Recently, we were unofficially informed by KBS that it would be impossible for Xiumin to appear on [KBS] programs that feature SM Entertainment artists, including KBS2’s ‘Music Bank’,” the statement read.

This reasoning was difficult to understand, but even until today, we have continuously attempted to communicate with KBS to urge them to prioritize the artist and their fans. Unfortunately, our attempts were ignored,” it continued.

If this kind of unfair treatment continues, our artists will be placed in a situation where they cannot promote on music shows whenever SM Entertainment artists have ongoing album promotions,” added the statement.

“We find it deeply unjust that KBS, a public broadcasting company, has made this decision based solely on one company’s stance. Despite our utmost efforts to resolve this matter, we regret having to deliver such disappointing news to the fans,” it added.

However, KBS swiftly denied the accusation, stating, “The allegations are completely unfounded.” The network further clarified, “The ‘Music Bank’ production team has been in continuous communication with Xiumin’s agency,” implying that there were no deliberate restrictions on his appearance.

Despite the dispute, Xiumin is actively promoting his second mini-album ‘INTERVIEW’ and the title track “WHEE!”, which were both released on March 10. Additionally, he is starring in the comedy drama “Heo’s Diner”, marking another milestone in his multifaceted career.
