“Signal” Season 2 Teaser Confirms Show’s Highly-Anticipated Return!

On March 12, tvN released the first teaser video for “The Second Signal” (literal translation), the long-awaited second season of the critically acclaimed 2016 drama. This is set to be the official title for “Signal” Season 2.

“Signal” is a gripping fantasy thriller about detectives who solve cold cases by communicating across time through a mysterious walkie-talkie—connecting the past and present. The first season also starred Kim Hye Soo, Jo Jin Woong, and Lee Je Hoon, who have all been confirmed to reprise their roles in the upcoming season.

The teaser begins with an eerie close-up of the supernatural walkie-talkie lighting up, signaling an incoming transmission. Fans were also thrilled to hear detective Lee Jae Han (Jo Jin Woong) from the past contacting present-day criminal profiler Park Hae Young (Lee Je Hoon). His chilling words, “Detective Park Hae Young? This is Lee Jae Han,” immediately build suspense. The teaser also concludes with the powerful statement, “The transmissions will start again.

Excitement for Season 2 has been growing, especially after Lee Je Hoon shared his thoughts in an interview in June 2024. He revealed that the script is currently in progress and that the early drafts have already left a deep impression on him. He also confidently stated that writer Kim Eun Hee has outdone herself this time, further heightening anticipation.

The original “Signal” also captivated audiences with its intricate storytelling, emotional depth, and compelling characters. As the transmissions resume, fans are also eager to see what new mysteries unfold in “The Second Signal.”
