tripleS Fan Apologizes for Throwing Object and Striking Members at Concert

A tripleS fan is facing backlash after throwing an object on stage during the idol group’s recent concert. The incident has sparked widespread discussions online, and the fan has since apologized and faced repercussions for their actions.

tripleS Fan Hurts Group Members with Thrown Object

The incident occurred during tripleS’s ‘Girls Never Stop’ fan concert on July 7, while the members were interacting with fans from a distance. Suddenly, a large round hand fan was hurled onto the stage, striking two members with unexpected force. One member was hit directly in the face, while another had the fan brush against her shoulder. Netizens speculate that the affected members were Xinyu and Lynn.

In response to the incident, the fan who threw the object posted an apology letter on X, expressing deep remorse and stating that they were “sorry a hundred times.” They admitted to throwing the fan, knowing it was prohibited, because they saw others throwing slogans and proceeded to throw the fan on stage “in an angered state.” The account has since been deleted, but screenshots of the apology have circulated widely.

The Consequences

The fan’s actions have had further consequences. It was revealed that the individual has been blacklisted and will be unable to attend any of the group’s offline events in the future. This decision was met with approval by many fans, who emphasized the importance of maintaining safety and respect at concerts.

Online forums have been filled with discussions about the incident, with many fans expressing their disappointment and anger towards the individual’s reckless behavior. Concertgoers and netizens alike stressed the need for strict measures to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. The consensus is clear: while fans’ enthusiasm and support are appreciated, it must not come at the expense of the artists’ safety and well-being.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of concert etiquette and the responsibility of fans to create a safe and respectful environment for both performers and fellow attendees. The swift action taken against the fan underscores the commitment of tripleS’s management to protect their artists and ensure that future events are enjoyed without disruptions.

TripleS Fans React to Members Moving Out of Group Dorm

TripleS is facing yet another controversy. A few members have decided to move out of their group dorm, and some fans have surprising reactions to the news.

TripleS Members Face Backlash After Moving Out of Group Dorm

TripleS recently announced that during inactive periods, some members of the 24-member group would be choosing to live on their own rather than in the group dorm. The members planning to move out include Sohyun, Hyerin, Jiwoo, and Yooyeon. This decision has sparked anger among some fans of the group, resulting in a protest that took place at a recent TripleS fan meeting.

Photos from the fan meeting have emerged, showing one fan ignoring member Sohyun and refusing to interact with her. Screenshots of the boycott being organized have also been uncovered, with one fan instructing those attending the fan meeting: “Don’t talk to those members, don’t look at them, and when you sit in front of those members, turn your back to them.”

From the pictures of the fan meeting, it appears that at least one fan followed that advice. Once the protesting fan was identified, it was announced that he was blacklisted from attending any further TripleS fan meetings.

The situation highlights a growing tension between the group’s management decisions and the expectations of their fanbase. This tension has been exacerbated by the recent debut of TripleS as a full team with the release of their first studio album ‘Assemble24’ on May 8. The album contains ten tracks, with the lead single “Girls Never Die.” The announcement of the 24-member debut was accompanied by a photo featuring all the members, which further ignited fan theories and controversies.

Trouble for TripleS?

Fans theorized that the members were arranged in the photo according to who sold the most Objekts. Although MODHAUS hasn’t confirmed or denied this, fans compared the members’ positions in the photo to the Objekt sales data. They found that the members who were front and center in the photo had sold more than the girls placed at the back. This discovery sparked discussions within the fandom.

Some believed it wasn’t fair, while others considered it downright toxic. Concerns were raised about the impact the arrangement could have on the members, especially on TripleS’s maknae, SeoAh, who is only 13 years old. Moreover, there are those who say they’re having a hard time getting into TripleS because they feel overwhelmed by the number of members.

The backlash from the fans over the living arrangements and the perceived favoritism based on sales underscores the challenges that come with managing a large idol group. Balancing individual member activities and maintaining group cohesion while keeping fans satisfied is a complex task. For TripleS, finding a way to address these fan concerns and ensuring fair treatment for all members will be crucial for their continued success and harmony within the fandom.

tripleS’s New 24-Member Comeback Teaser Receives Swift Backlash

The lineup of tripleS is now complete. The rookie girl group, which originally debuted in February 2023, now has 24 members, all of whom will participate in tripleS’s first full group comeback this May. Known for their sub-units Acid Angel from Asia, +(KR)ystal Eyes, LOVElution, and EVOLution, the girl group’s activities are influenced by the fans through a novel approach pioneered by their agency MODHAUS.

The trouble with tripleS

MODHAUS—led by its founder and CEO Jaden Jeong, who also happens to be tripleS’s creative director and music producer—made it so fans could be part of the group’s creative process by voting on everything that has to do with tripleS. This includes things like stage names and unit formations, which are normally decided on by a group’s agency or staff. When fans buy NFT photocards called “Objekts,” they earn “COMO” tokens, which allow them to place their votes.

tripleS recently announced a 24-member comeback under the name ASSEMBLE24, set for May. The announcement was accompanied by a photo featuring all the members. When fans saw it, they theorized that the girls were arranged in order according to who sold the most Objekts.

The broader issues

Fans weren’t the only ones bothered by the group’s ranking system. Member Xinyu took to the fan communication platform Fromm, where she described the system as “cruel.” She likened it to her traumatic experiences on the Mnet survival show Girls Planet 999. Xinyu suggested that a randomized system might be better. However, soon after posting these comments, she issued a retraction and an apology, then deleted all her posts. Fans speculated that the group’s management might have pressured her to do so.

MODHAUS has yet to address the controversy surrounding Xinyu’s remarks or the broader issues related to the group’s management practices. Fans hope that Xinyu wasn’t punished for her honesty and that the agency will take steps to improve how members are treated. However, it seems like the agency may already be making changes. A quick check of tripleS’s social media shows new concept photos where the members aren’t arranged according to Objekt sales. Additionally, the track list for the group’s album has been released.

These issues notwithstanding, the album ASSEMBLE24 will be released as planned on May 8 at 6:00 PM. The 10-track collection will be bannered by the title track “Girls Never Die.” – K-Pop News Writer

tripleS to Release Their First 24-Member Album in May

Girl group tripleS is gearing up to launch their first-ever album as a complete 24-member ensemble, dubbed ASSEMBLE24. Slated to drop in May, this album signifies the beginning of full-group activities for the girls. Girl groups with more than 10 members are a rarity in K-pop, making tripleS’s ambitious endeavor a topic of much discussion and excitement.

With this upcoming release, tripleS is poised to claim the title of the girl group with the largest number of members in K-pop history. Leader’S, a girl group from 2011, planned to expand to 24 members. But they never managed to do it. Until now, the record was shared by i-13, who debuted in 2005, and Cosmic Girls (WJSN), who started in 2016. They each had 13 members. While i-13 is no longer active, WJSN is still promoting as a 10-member group after losing their three Chinese members.

MODHAUS, the agency behind tripleS, has adopted a unique approach by forming units, or “dimensions,” through fan-voting events on their official app, COSMO. This interactive process allows fans to use voting tokens called COMOs to directly influence the group’s activities. Since their first unit, Acid Angel from Asia, debuted in October 2022, tripleS has introduced other units, including Aria, EVOLution, LOVElution, and +(KR)ystal Eyes. Each unit features different combinations of members.

There’s no telling how far tripleS can go

To date, 20 members have been introduced through unique content, including Yoon Seo-yeon, Jung Hye-rin, Lee Ji-woo, Kim Chae-yeon, Kim Yu-yeon, Kim Su-min, Kim Na-kyung, Gong Yu-bin, Kaede, Seo Da-hyun, Kotone, Kwak Yeon-ji, Nien, Park So-hyun, Shin Wi, and Mayu. The remaining four members are expected to be introduced to fans before ASSEMBLE24’s album drops. This approach has not only heightened anticipation but also fostered a deep connection between the members and their fans, known as the WAV (Wave).

The album’s title track was chosen through a fan-voting event that began on February 17. Eight songs battled it out to be the title track of ASSEMBLE24’s first-ever album. Ultimately, “Girls Never Die” won with 88,857 COMOs, out of the grand total of 227,221 COMOs cast by fans worldwide.

tripleS’s journey has already been marked by significant achievements. First, they nabbed the rookie award at the 2023 MAMA Awards in November last year. On the 18th, they attended the 2023 Hanteo Music Awards 2023 at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Jung-gu, Seoul, where they won another rookie award. Anticipation is building for what tripleS will achieve next. With so many talented girls in their ranks, there’s no telling how far this group can go. – K-Pop News Writer
