B1A4 Gongchan Leaves WM Entertainment After 13 Years

B1A4’s Gongchan has officially parted ways with WM Entertainment after 13 years of collaboration.

Gongchan Leaves WM Entertainment After 13 Years

On August 21, WM Entertainment announced that Gongchan’s individual management contract with the agency had ended on June 30, 2024. This marks the end of a significant chapter in Gongchan’s career, as he has been with WM Entertainment since his debut with B1A4 in 2011.

Despite the conclusion of his solo contract, fans of B1A4 can rest assured that Gongchan will continue his activities with the group under WM Entertainment’s management. This means that while his individual career may take a new direction, his commitment to B1A4 remains strong.

“After extensive and thoughtful discussions with B1A4’s Gongchan, we have decided to conclude our individual management contract with him as of June 30, 2024. However, we will continue to manage his group activities with B1A4 (CNU, Sandeul, and Gongchan),” the agency’s statement read.

We would like to express our gratitude to Gongchan for the trust and collaboration we’ve shared over the past 13 years. We also sincerely thank the fans who have continuously loved and supported Gongchan,” they added. “As always, we will continue to support Gongchan in his future endeavors and remain committed to do our best to support B1A4’s activities.”

“We kindly ask for your continued support and interest in Gongchan’s future projects and B1A4’s group activities,” it concluded.

Gongchan is one of the three remaining active members of B1A4, along with CNU and Sandeul. The group originally debuted as a five-member band in 2011, but experienced significant changes in 2018 when Jinyoung and Baro left the agency. Following their departure, WM Entertainment confirmed that B1A4 would continue as a trio, with CNU, Sandeul, and Gongchan carrying the torch.

As Gongchan navigates this new phase in his career, fans are eagerly anticipating his future projects, both as a member of B1A4 and in any solo endeavors he may pursue.

WM Entertainment’s use of Fromm marks a strategic shift in the realm of artist-fan interaction. It’s more than just a communication tool; it’s a nuanced approach to deepening fan engagement. In a time where the connection between artists and fans is key, Fromm provides a more personal way for fans to communicate with their favorites, offering a level of interaction that goes beyond what social media, for instance, can provide. In doing so, it fosters a more loyal and robust fan community.

Fromm offers a more controlled and safer environment for both artists and fans, a contrast to the often unpredictable and public nature of social media. This platform allows for better-managed interactions. That’s important for protecting the artists’ images and ensuring fans have a positive experience. It also creates opportunities for artists and WM Entertainment to earn, as fans may be willing to pay for exclusive interactions or special content.

WM Entertainment is staying current

Furthermore, Fromm is useful for understanding what fans like and want. This information is key for planning future projects, including but not limited to music. It’ll also allow WM Entertainment to come up with better ways to market those projects. As K-pop gains more fans worldwide, Fromm helps connect international fans with Korean artists, which is vital as K-pop’s global influence continues to grow.

Overall, the launch of Fromm by WM Entertainment shows how the company is adapting to the ever-changing media landscape. By introducing this new technology, WM Entertainment is staying current with how fans consume media.

ONF Set For First Group Comeback After 2 Year Hiatus

ONF is set to mark their eagerly anticipated group comeback after a hiatus spanning nearly two years. It will be their first group comeback since all members were discharged from military service.

ONF Confirms First Group Comeback Later in 2023

Media outlets broke the news on September 8th, signaling a thrilling return for ONF. The hiatus began in December 2021, when all five Korean members embarked on their mandatory military service shortly after the release of their 6th mini album, ‘Goosebumps’. This hiatus, though a necessary pause, left fans eagerly awaiting their return. However, good news arrived in June this year when all members successfully completed their military duties, paving the way for their comeback.

In a heartwarming reunion, ONF came together once more in July to grace the stage at the RBW family concert, ‘RBW 2023 Summer Festival – Over The Rainbow’. This performance served as a teaser for their impending comeback, reigniting the excitement and anticipation among fans.

ONF’s return promises not only a reunion of talents but also the unveiling of new musical endeavors, making it a significant moment for both the group and their devoted fanbase. The countdown to their comeback is now underway, and fans can’t wait to see what ONF has in store for them.

ONF Then and Now

ONF, originally formed as a seven-member group on August 3, 2017, has evolved into a dynamic six-member ensemble. The current lineup comprises talented individuals: Hyojin, E-Tion, J-Us, Wyatt, MK, and U. Unfortunately, the group experienced a significant change in August 2019 when their youngest member, Laun, departed due to personal circumstances, coinciding with the release of their fourth extended play, “Go Live.”

Since their debut, ONF has maintained an impressive discography, including a studio album, a repackaged album, seven extended plays, and two Japanese singles following their Japanese debut on August 1, 2018. Their journey in the music industry has been marked by evolution and artistic growth, making ONF a noteworthy presence in the world of K-pop, with their devoted fanbase eagerly anticipating their every move.

The official date for ONF’s first group comeback has not yet been revealed. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
