A2Z Entertainment is gearing up to redefine the boy group landscape with its latest project. Titled Hip-Pop School, this ambitious survival show will air on Channel ENA within the first half of 2024. Its goal is to assemble a hip-hop boy group whose members possess talent, looks, and international appeal.

A2Z Entertainment has a track record of producing top-notch shows. It’s the powerhouse behind High School Rapper 2, Hit Song in My Ear (which also airs on Channel ENA), Show Me The Money, and Street Woman Fighter 2. It was also involved in creating My Teenage Girl, which aired for four months, from November 28, 2021, to February 27, 2022. This show was instrumental in forming the girl group CLASS:y, which debuted under the management of M25, a subsidiary of A2Z Entertainment.

The show’s second season, Fantasy Boys, also produced a boy group. However, the difference between Fantasy Boys and Hip-Pop School is that the former put together a traditional K-pop group. Meanwhile, the latter aims to produce a group that combines traditional K-pop elements with the edge of hip-hop warriors.

A2Z Entertainment has high hopes

A2Z Entertainment has high hopes for this show. “Through Hip-Pop School, we plan to present a complete boy group by combining the intense hip-hop genre with the K-pop system, which has become the standard of global popular culture.” The company also asked for active participation and strong support as they go about forming a team that will set the standard for the next generation of idols.

To ensure that the winning team of Hip-Pop School meets global standards, top K-pop artists will join the show as directors. Each director will take charge of a single field: choreography, composition, producing, and vocals. These directors will help choose the members of the winning team through evaluations and expert training sessions. Public voting will also play a part in the selection process.

Recruitment for Hip-Pop School is set to begin in early March through a recommendation system. Those interested in participating or learning more about the audition process can find application details on the Hip-Pop School website and the social entertainment platform app, Baund. – K-Pop News Writer
