“Starting on February 6, Hangyeom will be fulfilling his military service obligation as social service personnel,” the statement read. “He will first perform alternative service under the ‘Advance Service’, and there will be no official ceremony on the day he starts his service. Fans are asked to refrain from visiting his workplace during his alternative service.”

“Finally, we would like to extend our warmest wishes and encouragement to Hangyeom as he completes his military service and returns safely, and we will continue to support and care for our artists,” it continued.

Song Hangyeom will be the third member of OMEGA X to begin his military service. Last year, IPQ, the group’s agency, also revealed that members Hwichan and Sebin would enlist in July 2024, with Hwichan beginning his service on July 4 and Sebin on July 16. Now, Hangyeom is also set to follow in their footsteps, further demonstrating the group’s sense of duty and responsibility.

While Hangyeom’s enlistment may temporarily pause his activities, fans can rest assured that OMEGA X remains united in their shared passion for music. “The idea of wanting to protect someone you love from afar felt incredibly fresh, and I was also curious about how director Kim Tae Kyun would bring it to life,” Park said when explaining why he took on the role.

Speaking about his character, Jinyoung described Dong Jin as a solitary individual who leads a quiet life, with no significant hobbies and few friends. “Dong Jin is like a genius who focuses intensely on one thing at a time,” he said. “When he’s working or investigating the curse tied to Mi Jung, I wanted to portray the feeling that he’s so absorbed, it’s as if he doesn’t hear or see anything else around him.”

He expressed excitement about portraying the complexity of Dong Jin’s personality and his emotional evolution throughout the drama. “It was important to first find a tone I could believe in for someone who is so absorbed in his own world,” Park explained.
