EXID Hani’s Fiance Yang Jae Woong Leaves MBC Radio Show Amid Controversy

Psychiatrist Yang Jae Woong, recently engaged to EXID’s Hani, has decided to leave his regular segment on MBC Radio’s ‘Starry Night,’ hosted by Kim Eana. His departure comes amid a recent controversy involving his hospital, where a patient tragically passed away. He had been a fixture on the show, advising listeners on mental health issues through his segment ‘A Clean and Dark Place,’ for the past four years. His final appearance was on July 26, with DJ Kim Eana set to introduce a new segment, ‘My Life’s Movie OST,’ starting August 2.

Yang Jae Woong steps down from his segment on MBC Radio’s ‘Starry Night’ following recent controversy involving his hospital

Yang Jae Woong’s agency, Mystic Story, has clarified that his decision to step down from the radio show was not directly related to the recent incident at his hospital. However, the timing has led to speculation and public concern. The incident in question involved a woman in her 30s, identified as Ms. A, who died at Yang’s psychiatric hospital in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, in May. According to reports, CCTV footages show that Ms. A was restrained after complaining of abdominal pain. Despite resuscitation efforts, she did not survive, leading her family to file a complaint against the hospital for criminal negligence, resulting in death.

In response to the tragic incident, Yang Jae Woong issued an apology through Mystic Story on July 29. He expressed deep regret and offered his condolences to the family of the deceased. He assured the public that the hospital was cooperating fully with the investigation. Additionally, he will be providing all necessary medical records and CCTV footage.

Ms. A had been admitted for treatment related to addiction to diet pills containing narcotics, and the suspected cause of her death is pseudo-obstruction. The incident has drawn significant media attention, not only due to the tragic loss but also because of his public engagement to Hani, a member of the popular girl group EXID, announced on May 31.

As Yang Jae Woong exits his radio segment, the controversy continues to unfold, with the public closely watching the developments surrounding the investigation. The impact on his career and personal life remains to be seen as both Yang Jae Woong and Hani navigate this challenging period.
