iKON Members Officially Reclaim Group Trademarks From YG Entertainment

The iKON members are officially free. In a groundbreaking moment for the idols and a significant milestone in the K-Pop industry, the talented members of the renowned boy group iKON have successfully gained ownership of all their group trademarks following their departure from YG Entertainment.

iKON Members Finally Claim Group Trademarks Since YG Entertainment Exit

As confirmed by the Korean Intellectual Property Rights Information Service (KIPRIS), a total of 13 trademarks associated with the K-Pop sensation “iKON” have now been officially transferred to its members. This remarkable development extends to the group’s dedicated artists, including Kim Jin Hwan (Jay), Song Yun Hyeong (Song), Kim Ji Won (Bobby), Kim Dong Hyuk (DK), Koo Jun Hoe (Ju-Ne), and Jung Chan Woo (Chan).

This significant achievement signifies that each member of iKON is now a proud owner of their group’s valuable trademarks, marking a historic moment in their artistic journey and underlining their autonomy in shaping their future endeavors.

In the previous year, iKON bid farewell to YG Entertainment by releasing their final mini-album ‘Flashback’ under the agency and embarking on a memorable Japan tour. This marked a significant transition in their career. On December 30, the members collectively declared their departure from YG Entertainment, setting the stage for a new chapter in their journey. Shortly thereafter, they embarked on this fresh adventure by signing with 143 Entertainment.

Their first release under 143 Entertainment was the eagerly anticipated album ‘Take Off’ which debuted in May of this year. However, an important detail persisted – although the album bore the group’s iconic name, iKON, the members still did not possess the legal rights to that name. Despite their newfound creative freedom, this legal distinction underscored the ongoing importance of resolving their trademark ownership, paving the way for their artistic autonomy and continued success in the ever-evolving world of K-Pop.

The iKON members have been on a long journey since their debut. Needless to say, owning the rights to their songs and the group name is a major milestone.

B.I. is gearing up for a highly anticipated return with the second installment of his EP series, “Love or Loved.” The excitement is building as he unveiled the comeback date and schedule set later this year.

B.I. Announces September Comeback Date and Schedule

On September 9, B.I. made an official announcement outlining the release schedule for ‘Love or Loved Part.2.’ To kick things off, he has scheduled the drop of a pre-release single from the EP on September 29, set to premiere at 1 p.m KST.

Fans can look forward to more musical treats a month later when B.I. unveils the title track of “Love or Loved Part.2” on October 27, also at 1 p.m. KST. This pre-release is bound to set the stage for the EP’s full release.

Finally, mark your calendars for the grand finale: the complete EP will be unleashed on November 10 at 2 p.m. KST. With these exciting dates in sight, B.I. is gearing up to make a powerful and memorable comeback with his music, promising fans an unforgettable musical journey ahead.

This is exciting news for fans who have been hoping for a follow-up to ‘Love or Loved’ which was released in November 2022. Although it has been a long wait, people are hyped up for ‘Love or Loved Part 2’. With that in mind, fans are already preparing for the comeback date and keeping an eye on the schedule.

B.I. Moves On From Troubled Times

B.I.’s active schedule is pleasing to fans and confirmation that he has moved on from troubled times. In June 2019, unsettling information came to light regarding B.I., involving his attempt to acquire marijuana and LSD back in 2016. These illicit substances were sourced through a female drug dealer, and it was reported that the rapper did indeed consume the marijuana he had obtained. Furthermore, allegations suggested that Kim Hanbin managed to elude police charges at the time.

Subsequently, B.I. took to social media to express his remorse over the controversy and made the difficult decision to part ways with iKON and YG Entertainment. The repercussions continued in September 2021 when he was handed a four-year probationary sentence.

Despite the ongoing burden of guilt stemming from the controversy, B.I. remains committed to his passion for creating music, demonstrating his determination to continue his artistic journey.

V Confirms ‘Layover’ Is Connected to BTS’ ‘HYYH’ Era

There is little doubt that the “Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa” series is still one of BTS’ most memorable eras. In fact, the iconic music from the albums continues to be a favorite for most fans. So it’s no surprise that ARMYs are not the only ones who can’t get over the “HYYH” era. According to V, his solo album ‘Layover’ is influenced and strongly connected to the supergroup’s ‘The Most Beautiful Moment in Life’ era.

V Discusses Love for Jazz and Not Being Over the ‘HYYH’ Era

In a recent Rolling Stone interview, V delved into the creative inspiration behind his latest project, ‘Layover’, drawing special influence from the world of jazz. He recounted his journey of falling in love with jazz music, noting that his affection for the genre didn’t blossom instantaneously. Instead, it was a rediscovery that eventually led to a profound and genuine appreciation.

The interviewer then ventured into the realm of nostalgia, curious whether V’s affinity for jazz implied a nostalgic streak in his personality. To this, the idol nodded in agreement, sharing that he indeed feels a deep connection between his fondness for jazz and his memories of “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life.”

“I think you can think of it as connected to BTS’ ‘The Most Beautiful Moment in Life’ series, which showcased the theme of youth,” V said. “You know, when you look back into your past and feel sentimental about those old memories. That strange feeling that comes with reflecting back on your old self, and thinking, ‘I wish I could go back to those good old days…’

How ‘HYYH’ Influenced ‘Layover’

He further added that the influence is evident in most of the songs in ‘Layover’.

“I think that overall sentiment is also reflected in this album,” V said. “Particularly the song ‘Love Me Again’ is about reminiscing and wanting to return to the past. I think those ideas are reflected in the music video as well. So in short, my youth is not over. Right?

The BTS discography’s ‘HYYH’ (Hwa Yong Yeon Hwa) era encompasses a collection of albums known as “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life.” During this period, BTS delved into diverse themes associated with the trials and tribulations of transitioning into adulthood. The three albums in the series include ‘The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 1’, ‘The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 2’, and ‘The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever’.

“Bam House” is back with its second season and BamBam has invited an old neighbor for a nice warm meal. The GOT7 member welcomed MAMAMOO singer Hwa Sa into his home and it was revealed they were real-life neighbors. Not surprisingly, the two idols revealed some hilarious and awkward neighborhood moments they shared.

BamBam Confirms Hwa Sa Was His Next-Door Neighbor For Almost Five Years

In the latest episode of “Bam House” Season 2, BamBam invited Hwa Sa to his new home to try his homemade papaya salad. It was also a momentous event as the GOT7 member decided to try Malatang for the first time. But that’s not the only surprise BamBam had for his viewers. During the episode, he revealed that he had known the MAMAMOO member for a long time.

“We used to be next-door neighbors for 4 and a half years,” BamBam revealed.

He then went on to admit that there are several hilarious stories from their old neighborhood but he wondered if he could share them publicly. Interestingly, Hwa Sa stated that she is fine with him revealing everything. Additionally, the “Maria” singer had great things to say about her former neighbor.

BamBam was a very warm neighbor. You have a very comfortable tone when you speak. It always felt nice to talk with you,” Hwasa said.

Hilarious Neighborhood Moments With BamBam and Hwa Sa

Although Hwa Sa had nice things to share about BamBam, he did reveal one of their awkward encounters. “I remember one time, it was a day when I was cleaning the house. I was wearing slippers, shorts, a sleeveless top… and I’m so twig-thin.”

He continued, “I was carrying trash bags in my hands too. I was waiting in front of the elevator, and then the door opened with a ‘Ding!’. Hwa Sa was there, in full makeup. As soon as I saw her, I said, ‘I’m sorry’. Not ‘Hello’, I’m sorry,” BamBam added with a laugh.

Amazingly, Hwa Sa had a different recollection of the same memory. “No, the way I remember it, you looked cool,” she said. “Do you know what I thought at that time? I thought, ‘BamBam looks fine even when he’s not made up. What am I gonna do?’

They may no longer be neighbors but it’s clear that BamBam and Hwa Sa are still good friends. It’s the kind of awkward relationship that developed over several years as neighbors.

Seventeen’s Joshua Gets Emotional in Japan Concert Following Dating Controversy

Joshua of K-pop boy group SEVENTEEN couldn’t help but burst into tears at the continuous support of their fans following his recent dating controversy.

On September 6 to 7, the “Super” hitmakers held their FOLLOW concert at the Tokyo Dome. While the performances were impeccable, the members’ ending messages particularly moved the fans.

Joshua, specifically, couldn’t help but get emotional as he talked about the strong bond between SEVENTEEN and CARATs.

“You have become the motivation for me to work with all my might and more in my activities,” he said. “CARATs will always be the force that drives me. So that I can convey my feelings to CARATs, I will work even harder going forward.”

During the second day of the show, Joshua once again expressed his gratitude to their supporters. “Just being able to see all of you, whether you’re cheering for me or helping me become a better person has been incredible.”

Joshua’s dating controversies

While this might be a usual gratitude message for others, CARATs know that Joshua’s message hold more weight as it’s the idol’s first concert following his dating controversy.

In early August, speculations that Joshua is dating model/influencer Mi Young circulated online. Such rumors came due to footage of the two allegedly wearing the same products and taking photos in similar locations within the same time.

Although other fans have debunked the allegations, there were unfortunately some antis who boycotted and protested against the idol.

Aside from the model/influencer, Joshua was also linked to former MOMOLAND member Jane. To which Jane was quick to deny. Moreover, Jane emphasized that she never even personally met the SEVENTEEN member.

Even without directly addressing the rumors, the controversy obviously took a toll on Joshua as he maintained a low profile on social media. He also appeared visibly exhausted in public.

Be Loud For Joshua

Following Joshua’s poignant moment at the concert, many fans were quick to show their support for the idol. Hashtags “Be Loud for Joshua” and “We Love You Joshua” trended on social media.

Some couldn’t help but applaud the strength it took for Joshua to be emotionally vulnerable to his fans after a distressing moment.

Many also aired out their frustration to those who started the rumors, telling them that they’re not deserving to be called fans of SEVENTEEN.

Overall, the majority declared their continued support for Joshua, promising that they’ll be by his side through thick and thin.

In spite of the controversies, Joshua continued his activities with SEVENTEEN. Recently, he, together with members DK and DINO, were featured in the remix of New Kids On The Block’s “Dirty Dancing.”
