CRAVITY Talks Filipino LUVITYs Amid Masterpiece World Tour

The ambiance was electric when CRAVITY, a nine-member K-pop act under Starship Entertainment, settled into their seats for an exclusive interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer. Their journey, which began in the challenging backdrop of April 2020 amidst the global pandemic, has been nothing short of a roller-coaster ride, filled with highs, lows, and countless memories.

As they embarked on their first-ever world tour, their aspirations weren’t confined to the present. They dreamt big, envisioning “more explosive performances” on grander stages in the not-so-distant future. Seongmin, with a blend of ambition and humility, shared, “The moment we step on stage, our expressions automatically shift to focus. Even if we’re on a world tour right now, I imagine that in a few years, we want to show bigger performances on a bigger stage for our fans.”

This ambition, which some critics have termed “greediness,” was a focal point of discussion during the sit-down. Wonjin, with a fervor that’s hard to miss, elaborated that this so-called “greediness” is a reflection of their unwavering determination as performers. Their first world tour, aptly named “Masterpiece,” is a testament to this drive. “Masterpiece is our first world tour as CRAVITY. We, along with our label, are really concerned about showcasing each member’s unique strengths. We’re eager to prove ourselves, to display what we have to offer in hopes of making our tour a resounding success,” he added.

The bond between the members, a cornerstone of their success, was in full display throughout the interview. Light-hearted banter peppered the conversation, from fun anecdotes about Taeyoung‘s undeniable charisma to Seongmin‘s tendency to sweat during performances. Woobin‘s powerful high notes, they joked, could “even break speakers and microphones.”

The Philippine Daily Inquirer sit-down went well

The Philippines, as the group unanimously agreed, holds an unparalleled place in their hearts. Allen, emphasized the overwhelming support they’ve received from their Filipino fans

“Every time we do live broadcasts on platforms like YouTube, we get comments like ‘mahal kita’ (I love you) and ‘pogi’ (handsome),” he shared, visibly moved.

The members also indulged in a bit of nostalgia, reminiscing about their career’s standout moments. Seongmin holds the rookie awards they bagged in 2020 quite close to his heart, while Jungmo‘s cherished memories revolve around his experiences in music shows and variety shows. Finally, Allen says sharing a stage with K-pop legends SHINee was a dream come true, a moment that solidified his passion and commitment to the craft.

Although they haven’t been around for long, CRAVITY’s vision is crystal clear. They’re on a mission to introduce themselves to the world through their eclectic music palette. With a discography that includes the powerful “My Turn” and upbeat “Cloud 9,” the group’s versatility is hard to miss. With a hint of pride, Allen described CRAVITY as a canvas with splashes of paint in different colors. That metaphor beautifully encapsulates their multifaceted, vibrant identity.

BTS’ Longtime Hairstylist Opens Up About Working With the Group for 10 Years

In K-pop, where style and visuals are quite important, hairstylists and makeup artists often work their magic behind the scenes. Among them stands Park Nae Joo, a master hairstylist and owner of a renowned salon, who has been the trusted stylist for BTS for nearly a decade. He has had a hand in some of their most famous looks—including Jungkook’s wavy hair for his “SEVEN” promotions.

[ENG INT] Journey with BTS from the bottom to the Grammys

Park Nae Joo owns the salon Bit & Boot in Seoul. Its client list reads like a who’s who of the South Korean entertainment industry. Aside from BTS, that list includes top actors Park Bogum and Lee Je Hoon, as well as idols like EXO’s Kai and the girl group TWICE. But it’s Park Nae Joo’s journey with BTS that has captured the hearts of many. After all, the Bit & Boot owner has forged a deep, strong bond with the septet, having seen them through the ups and downs that characterized their early years in the business.

During an interview with Yonhap News, when asked about his experiences with BTS, Park Nae Joo‘s heartfelt response was telling. He’s frequently questioned about his ties with these global icons, but his answer remains the same. Far from being intimidated by their stature, he perceives them as kin. “To many, BTS might be global superstars, but to me, they don’t come across that way. Instead, they feel like my brothers,” he expressed.

Park Nae Joo on bleaching RM’s hair

Before establishing himself, Park Nae Joo worked as a freelancer, with BTS being among his initial clientele. Their partnership commenced during the group’s sophomore album, a phase when BTS was still trying to build a following. In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Park Nae Joo reminisced about a particularly taxing session with BTS‘s leader, RM.

Tasked with bleaching RM‘s black hair for a comeback, the hairstylist faced a Herculean challenge. The procedure, demanding eight bleach applications in one day, was conducted in a public restroom lacking hot water or proper facilities. It didn’t even have a washstand, a hose, or hot water. So on a bitingly cold January day, RM let Park Nae Joo wash his hair with cold water. It took him a whole day to finish the job. He worked on RM’s hair from dusk till dawn.

This story serves as a poignant reminder of the hurdles BTS faced in their formative years. Such memories cemented their bond. As Park Nae Joo looks back on those days, he wishes BTS nothing but continued success (and good, healthy hair). – K-Pop News Writer

BTS’ Jungkook Adopts Genderless Concept in New Calvin Klein Campaign

Calvin Klein, a name synonymous with timeless fashion, is making headlines again. This time, it’s for their Fall ‘23 campaign featuring none other than BTSJungkook. Unveiled on August 14, it presents the Korean superstar in a refreshingly audacious light.

The campaign’s photos quickly gained traction across Korean online communities, showing Jungkook in form-fitted clothing that highlights his toned physique. But it was his long, shaggy bob hairstyle and the overarching genderless theme that truly captivated the public. Shortly after the campaign was unveiled, the term “genderless” began trending on Korean Twitter.

Jung Kook Finds Pleasure in the Music | Calvin Klein Fall 2023 Campaign

Fans and followers didn’t hesitate to express their approval of the concept. Some even dubbed him “Jungsoonie,” a Korean nickname meaning, “cute, long-haired baby girl.” It was first bestowed upon Jungkook by fellow BTS member Jin when they were filming a reality show. (Jungkook had put his hair up in pigtails at the time.) Going back to the Calvin Klein campaign, the consensus was clear: the fact that Jungkook leaned into the genderless concept is mesmerizing and praiseworthy.

In the campaign video, Jungkook‘s magnetic presence is palpable. Accompanied by the classic Gary Numan track “Cars,” the 30-second clip by fashion photographers Inez & Vinoodh, shows the artist wearing a dark denim outfit. His exposed chest, complemented by a sleek black tie and his signature lip ring, enhanced his appeal. The video, exuding confidence, playfulness, and sensuality, captured the campaign’s spirit perfectly.

More on the Fall ‘23 Calvin Klein campaign

Although Jungkook stole the show, the campaign also features other celebrities like Alexa Demie, BLACKPINK’s Jennie, Kendall Jenner, and Kid Cudi.

This collaboration isn’t Jungkook’s first with Calvin Klein. Back in March, he was unveiled as a global brand ambassador for the brand and he sported a denim ensemble for his inaugural appearance. It was part of Calvin Klein’s Spring ‘23 campaign, which amassed 1.7 billion impressions, garnered 1.6 million new followers, and significantly boosted traffic to Calvin Klein’s e-commerce platforms.

In an exclusive interview with Women’s Wear Daily, Jonathan Bottomley, Calvin Klein’s global chief marketing officer, talked about the Fall ‘23 campaign. He called it “a celebration of our most iconic products, spotlighting brand ambassadors who are influencing today’s culture.” He underscored the brand’s evolution and the deliberate selection of ambassadors, chosen for their genuine connection with the brand and their sway in pivotal markets.

Custom stories for social platforms, impactful media placements, interviews, and striking imagery showcase the character of every brand ambassador.

The campaign will be featured prominently on Calvin Klein’s digital channels throughout the rest of this week. It’ll also be on high-visibility digital and out-of-home placements worldwide, including the iconic Houston Street and LaCienega billboards. – K-Pop News Writer

Cho Mi Young: Meet the Influencer Supposedly Dating SEVENTEEN’S Joshua

The K-pop scene, known for its vibrant music, synchronized choreography, and passionate fanbase, is abuzz with a different kind of excitement. Whispers of SEVENTEEN’s Joshua’s alleged romantic relationship with Cho Mi Young have taken center stage. But who is she, exactly?

Cho Mi Young isn’t an ordinary model. She’s a rising star in South Korea’s burgeoning fashion world. Signed to the prestigious LSAC Modeling Agency in Seoul, her collaborations with renowned brands like BONNY, LALA, and LIPHOP have garnered attention. Her appearances in magazines like DAZED Korea, NYLON Korea, and Vogue Girl Korea have solidified her status in the industry.

Born on April 4, 1998, Cho Mi Young, with her youthful charm, is three years younger than Joshua. Beyond her modeling career, she ventured into reality TV by appearing on an MBN dating show. Her achievements don’t stop there. She has carved a niche for herself on YouTube, where her lifestyle clips, makeup tutorials, and vlogs offer a more personal look at her daily life, attracting thousands of subscribers.

Compelling and extensive evidence

The evidence pointing towards their relationship is compelling and extensive. Fans have noticed the duo’s similar attire. From identical necklaces and sweaters to phone cases, their sartorial choices seem to mirror each other. A particular Calvin Klein denim top they both sported raised eyebrows. Given its unique wash, netizens speculated whether the two were sharing clothes, a gesture intimate enough to suggest a close relationship.

Further fueling the rumors, Joshua‘s mother was seen with a short-haired girl during a trip to the Philippines. The girl was later identified as Cho Mi Young. Their social media activity also suggests they’ve been at the same locations at similar times. A video posted by Cho Mi Young had a familiar laughter in the background, which fans are convinced belongs to Joshua. Finally, both were spotted wearing similar beaded bracelets, a hobby Joshua is known for.

Unfortunately, K-pop fans don’t always support news of celebrities dating. A protest truck, with its glaring message, was recently spotted outside PLEDIS Entertainment, SEVENTEEN‘s agency. The truck’s message demanded Joshua exit the group, criticizing him for flaunting his relationship with Cho Mi Young. This reaction, while extreme, highlights the intense pressure and scrutiny K-pop idols often face regarding their personal lives.

What’s next for Joshua and Cho Mi Young?

Some Chinese fans counteracted the negativity by sending trucks of support to the HYBE building. These trucks bore messages of love and trust for Joshua, emphasizing their love and support for him. Such gestures highlight the duality of the fanbase. Some demand perfection and adherence to certain standards, others offer unconditional support.

@all_dreams1117

They have already sent support trucks to Joshua, but we must move forward Gracias por to su apoyo 🥰 #protectseventeen #joshua #protectjoshua #supportjoshua #fyp #foryou

Amidst this whirlwind of rumors, reactions, and “evidence,” PLEDIS Entertainment has chosen to remain silent. Their silence is deafening, leaving fans and the public frustrated and in suspense. The lack of a statement has led to further speculations and has intensified discussions on online forums and social media platforms.

As the story continues to unfold, it serves as a reminder of the intense scrutiny K-pop idols face. The global community of fans, while eagerly awaiting clarity, should also remember to respect their idols’ personal boundaries. After all, celebrities, like the rest of us, deserve their private moments. As for the SEVENTEEN vocalist and this model he’s allegedly dating, only time will reveal the truth about their relationship. – K-Pop News Writer

BTS’ Leader RM Makes ARMYs Cry and Smile in New Live Broadcast

BTS‘ leader, RM, recently took his fans on an emotional journey in an unexpected live broadcast on Weverse. Setting a casual tone, he began by saying, “I was working on music by myself here but I wanted to stop by and see you. I was going to turn on music and do it, but it’s chaotic, so I can’t multitask. I used a filter because I’m wearing black, and my hair is black with the black background, but I look like an older person.”

[ENG SUB] BTS RM WEVERSE LIVE (2023.08.12) | NAMJOON LIVE #rm

RM discussed his new buzz cut, a topic that had garnered much attention. Fans’ compliments led to a heartwarming response from him, “What should we talk about? Why did I cut my hair? Because I wanted to! My hair, my choice! It’s harder to take care of buzzcuts. I haven’t buzzed it for about a week, so it’s iffy. ‘Our Namjoon, you look pretty no matter what you do.’ How big is your love, guys? Thank you for even loving this strange hair.”

RM on his members

This light-hearted start was a prelude to a series of deeper revelations. A surprising revelation was RM‘s long-held dream of becoming an author, which remains in the back of his heart and mind. “Will I write a book? It was a dream of mine to be an author! Once I’m prepared, maybe I could write one, but I think it’ll be hard because I love music and performing.”

RM also talked about performing at SUGA’s D-DAY concert. “For the first time in 10 months, I was on a big stage. The last big stage I stood on was BTS‘ Yet to Come concert in Busan. For the first time after the UN speech, my hands were shaking a lot!”

Speaking of the other BTS members, RM expressed excitement about their future as a group. He said, “Oh, I should talk about the members! Once we get back together, we’ll work hard as a team. We talked about this as a team, too. As you saw at the concert, Jin-hyung and Hobi came and saw it with us. We all drank together too!”

RM praised the new material by Jungkook and V. He also confirmed that he’s working on something of his own. “What do I think of Jungkook‘s new song? ‘Seven’ is a bop! Anyone can groove along to it when they drive, shower, dance. I’m proud of what he’s doing. How do I like Tae‘s songs? I like them too. I watched the MV with the puppy that looks like Yeontan! I’m planning to release another album too, but with Taehyung‘s album coming out soon, mine will have to wait. I’m still working on it anyway. As you guys know, I’m so good at spoiling, so I’m trying to be careful.”

A poignant turn

The broadcast took a poignant turn when RM shared SUGA‘s thoughts about his recently-concluded world tour, emphasizing the anticipation of reuniting with ARMY in 2025. RM also touched on “Love Letters,” the song fans wrote and recorded for BTS as a gift on their tenth anniversary.

ARMYs Song For BTS “Love Letters” Official MV

SUGA-hyung talked a lot about how he felt during his world tour and how much love is waiting for our reunion in 2025. Even though we’re doing solo projects, I think of this time as a vacation before returning to BTS and ARMY. These solo projects are just a journey, but they’re an important part of Chapter Two. They’re a journey to ensure we return safely when we reunite in 2025,” he said.

“Thank you for making this song,” he added. “I promise I’ve never taken this love for granted, and I’ll continue to feel the same in the future. I believe all the other members feel the same. When I experience this kind of love, it helps me overcome challenges and trials in life. It might be the same for you guys. Thank you for this amazing song! Yes, I’m getting emotional. I can be emotional too! I won’t deny that.”

RM made a promise

He also shared the heart-wrenching news of his pet Rapmon’s passing. “Ah Moni! I never shared the news with you guys. Moni, two-three months ago, he crossed the rainbow bridge. It wasn’t long, the time he was with me. But he was a family member. I bought a drawing that looks like him and hung it up.”

Concluding the session, RM promised more interactions and hinted at upcoming projects, “Always be healthy and I’m coming to the company a lot so I’ll come back on here too! Please love my buzz cut and my solo project too though I don’t know when it’ll be released.”

RM’s genuine love for ARMY was evident in the way he interacted with them during his broadcast. His candid revelations and personal anecdotes painted a vivid picture of the bond between BTS and their global fanbase. – K-Pop News Writer

Haters Question Jungkook’s Talent, Korean Vocal Coach Defends Him

A few weeks ago, the world was surprised when BTSmaknae, Jungkook, unintentionally unveiled his private TikTok account. Initially, he told fans that the account was created for observation and he wouldn’t be using it. But he ended up converting it into an official account. The fans’ excitement was palpable when he posted a video of himself and SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu dancing to “SEVEN.”

Jungkook‘s TikTok journey has been quite entertaining. From engaging with memes related to his solo single to humorous edits featuring himself and other BTS members, every piece of content he engaged with had fans in stitches. But one recent interaction stood out from the rest.

Cho Jo Hyeon, a TikToker who wears multiple hats as a voice teacher, music producer, and CEO of Bean Entertainment, shared a video analyzing Jungkook’s singing. This was in response to recurring criticism directed at the BTS member. In the video, he lauds Jungkook’s vocal abilities, specifically countering claims that Jungkook‘s singing isn’t on par with vocalists traditionally praised for having strong voices.

Cho Jo Hyeon elaborates that those vocalists sang in styles reminiscent of a particular era of R&B and rock. Those styles became the benchmark for excellence in the 2000s and 2010s because they were popular back then. But according to Cho Jo Hyeon, a quick look at the Melon charts will reveal that the definition of popular vocals has changed.

He says a song by Jungkook might not resonate the same way if sung by a vocalist with a drastically different style. Furthermore, he criticizes those who doubt the Korean superstar’s talent, pointing out that they aren’t deeply involved in the industry and merely reminisce about the past.

Jungkook responds to Cho Jo Hyeon

In a heartwarming twist, Jungkook himself responded to Cho Jo Hyeon’s TikTok. He acknowledged that he could improve and expressed his commitment to honing his craft. But he also stated that he knows his strengths. His comment read, “I will work on singing more diligently! I’m aware of my own shortcomings, and I’m putting in the effort to work on them. But I know what I’m good at, and I’m doing that. Thank you, seonsaengnim! Only those who want to listen to my songs, please listen to them. I love you, ARMY.”

Jungkook‘s humility and self-assurance deeply moved the fans. Some took to SNS to express their admiration for his balanced perspective.

The overarching sentiment is clear: while styles and preferences may evolve, genuine talent remains undeniable. Jungkook‘s journey on TikTok has entertained many and shed light on the ever-changing landscape of music and the importance of recognizing talent in all its forms. – K-Pop News Writer

Why the World Scout Jamboree K-Pop Super Live Concert Upset Soccer Fans and Teams

The 2023 World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) faced a series of unfortunate events, culminating in a last-minute K-Pop Super Live concert that many believed “saved” the event. However, this decision sparked significant outrage among soccer enthusiasts.

From the outset, the 25th WSJ was marred by disasters. First, a heatwave struck the campsite, giving hundreds of attendees heatstroke. With no nearby hospitals, the situation became quite dire. Additionally, attendees reported rotten food, unsanitary conditions, and a disturbing incident where a man walked into a girls’ shower facility. Consequently, 4,500 UK scouts withdrew early, incurring a staggering loss of 1 million GBP (approximately 1.27 million USD).

K-POP SUPER LIVE Full Video Part1 | KBS WORLD TV 230811

Due to the extreme heat, the WSJ’s closing ceremony and the highly anticipated K-Pop concert needed a new venue. The solution? A soccer stadium. Initially, the Jeongju World Cup Stadium was chosen. However, Typhoon Khanun forced another change, this time to the Seoul Sangam World Cup Stadium. While these changes were problematic for the scouts, they wreaked havoc in the soccer community.

In Jeongju, the FA Cup semi-final game between Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC and Incheon United FC was abruptly canceled. This sudden change disrupted schedules, causing chaos. Jeonbuk’s coach, Dan Petrescu, was particularly frustrated.

K-POP SUPER LIVE Full Video Part2 | KBS WORLD TV 230811

The situation in Seoul was equally challenging. The concert required a massive stage setup, damaging the soccer field. This damage was significant considering how important turf condition is for player safety and game flow. Furthermore, the Seoul Sangam World Cup Stadium had recently undergone a significant renovation, with nearly 1 billion KRW (around 752,000 USD) spent on hybrid grass. The concert nullified this effort overnight.

The aftermath of the jamboree

Although the South Korean government vowed to repair the damage swiftly, soccer fans criticized them for sidelining the sport. This criticism coincided with public discontent over the government’s handling of the entire WSJ event. Many felt that various parties had to make undue sacrifices due to poor planning.

Rumors also circulated that artists like IVE were coerced into performing under the pretense of “volunteering.” Fans wondered why K–pop acts had to “fix” the government’s shortcomings regarding the Jamboree. Moreover, the organizers faced backlash for exposing workers to unsafe conditions during concert preparations.

Despite these challenges, the K-pop concert proceeded smoothly. Artists like ITZY and THE BOYZ delivered stellar performances, showcasing K-pop’s global influence. However, the lingering question remains: will the government be held accountable for their hasty decisions and the ensuing public frustration? Only time will tell. – K-Pop News Writer

xikers set a new record

In other news, xikers have also made headlines for another reason. Their latest album, HOUSE OF TRICKY: HOW TO PLAY, set a new first-week sales record for the group.

According to data from Hanteo, the album recorded 205,895 copies sold within its first week. This figure surpassed the sales of their first mini-album, HOUSE OF TRICKY: Doorbell Ringing, which sold around 100,000 units in its first week. BTS’ V Sings of “Rainy Days” in Video for Second Pre-Release Track

BTS‘s V has once again captured hearts with his second pre-release single, “Rainy Days.” Released at midnight, this ballad is a testament to his artistry, blending melancholic lyrics with a captivating melody. Set to feature on his debut solo album, Layover, which is scheduled to drop on September 8, “Rainy Days” is a preview of what ARMY can expect from the six-track collection. The album also includes “Love Me Again,” which was recently unveiled with its official music video.

With a focus on V’s vocals, “Rainy Days” is accompanied by a snapping snare and an intriguing piano refrain. BigHit Music, the powerhouse behind BTS, labeled “Rainy Days” as an “alternative pop R&B track.” This 1970s-inspired romantic soul song, with its fusion of contemporary drum sounds and vintage percussion, exudes a relaxed and free-spirited aura.

Rainy Days

V‘s collaboration with Min Heejin, the creative director of NewJeans and president of ADOR, has been instrumental in shaping his debut solo album. She supervised choreography, design, music, and promotion. They worked well together because when Min pitched her concept for the album to V, he loved it instantly.

Min describes “Rainy Days” as the perfect introduction to Layover, emphasizing his calming vocals and visuals. The album’s tracklist comprises six songs: “Rainy Days,” “Blue,” “Love Me Again,” “Slow Dancing,” “For Us,” and a special piano version of “Slow Dancing.” BigHit says that fans should listen to the album in order, highlighting “Slow Dancing” as its centerpiece.

The “Rainy Days” music video

The music video accompanying the track offers a candid look into V‘s daily life. The music video also showcased various locations, with some scenes filmed in the iconic Torres Blancas in Madrid, Spain. His beloved dog Yeontan also played a significant role in the music video.

Fans have witnessed Yeontan grow and become integral to V‘s life. This bond was highlighted in the “Rainy Days” music video. But what caught fans’ attention was the music video’s color palette. They quickly noticed that the predominant colors in the video were blue and yellow, the primary shades that dogs perceive. This led to a heartwarming realization: the video might have been filmed from Yeontan’s perspective, a unique viewpoint that resonated deeply with fans.

V ‘Rainy Days’ Official MV

Beyond the music video, V‘s connection with Yeontan was further emphasized during a surprise live broadcast on Weverse. He expressed a desire to give the first copy of his album to Yeontan. While the idea of a dog receiving an album might seem amusing, it was V‘s way of acknowledging Yeontan’s contributions to his life and work.

ARMY couldn’t help but imagine Yeontan’s reaction to receiving the album.

All told, “Rainy Days” is more than a song; it reflects V’s inner world, relationships, and the things that matter to him. With its intimate moments and heartwarming details, the video offers fans a deeper understanding of the artist behind the music. Whether it’s his bond with Yeontan, or the song’s introspective lyrics, “Rainy Days” is a testament to V‘s ability to make profound connections with listeners, making it a great addition to his discography. – K-Pop News Writer

SEVENTEEN’S The8 on Interacting With CARATs Outside Official Schedules

SEVENTEEN‘s The8—one of the K-pop group’s two Chinese members—is known for being candid. In a live broadcast on Weibo, he talked about a topic close to his heart: his interactions with CARATs outside official events.

Reflecting on his evolution from an unknown to a world-famous member of SEVENTEEN, The8 said, “Whenever I go out, I almost always encounter CARATs who recognize me. That brings me immense joy, considering I was virtually unknown when I debuted.”

However, his new level of fame has its challenges, especially regarding fan interactions in public. “If I’m just resting outside because it’s my private life, I don’t like being interrupted,” he said honestly. “But if I already noticed that you saw me, say hi. I’d appreciate that. If you’re afraid of disturbing me so you don’t want to say hi, but you’re also secretly filming me, I’ll have to avoid you. If I avoid you, then you’ll try to find me, and that will make me uncomfortable, right? It’s a vicious cycle.”

Personal moments

The8 emphasized how uncomfortable he feels when fans take pictures and videos of him when they think he’s not looking. “I believe genuine fans of mine or SEVENTEEN’s should be confident enough to greet me. That way, I won’t feel anxious about being covertly photographed or recorded. You may think I’m oblivious when you do that, but I notice. I always do.”

While he treasures the affection from CARATs, The8 also hopes they understand the significance of boundaries. Genuine support, he believes, means respecting his privacy during personal moments.

“If I’m with my family or friends, perhaps you can wait until I’m free to greet me,” The8 suggested. When I went to the seaside with my parents, we met a lot of CARATs. Everyone was polite. There was a little girl who probably wasn’t even ten years old yet. As we were leaving, she said softly, ‘Are you The8? I’m your fan. I really like SEVENTEEN.’ I was taken aback because we were there for almost thirty minutes, and she didn’t come over to interrupt at all. I thought, ‘Wow, she’s so polite at such a young age.’ I was truly happy.”

The8 on art and self-care

The8 also discussed his recent endeavors, including filming a new episode of GOING SEVENTEEN and his love for art. Lately, he’s been more into drawing and painting than dancing.

When some fans asked him to post photos of his work on social media, The8 replied, “I’m hesitant to share my art casually. I’m happy to talk about my process, but I’d prefer to present my finished pieces in a more formal setting, where I can fully convey the emotions behind each work. I hope to share my art with you in the future. But for now, I need more time. I want to feel truly proud of my creations, whether they’re dance, musical, or visual art projects. I know CARATs are eager for new content, but I ask for your patience.”

He’s been into self-care lately because he wants to show CARATs his best side. “I want to interact with you when I’m at my best. Lately, I’ve realized I shouldn’t overexert myself. I’ve always been ambitious, pushing myself to improve my performance. While I enjoy being active, I understand my body’s limits now. That’s why I’m focusing on rest. But you’ll still see me in upcoming content.”

The8 wants CARATs to keep supporting him and his group while respecting their boundaries. As his live broadcast ended, he imparted a poignant message to them: “Take a moment to gaze at the sky, relish the clouds, and treasure life.” – K-Pop News Writer
