It’s been quite a whirlwind journey for Lee Chaeyeon since IZ*ONE‘s disbandment two years ago. The bond between the members, however, remains unbroken. Recently, Chaeyeon, gearing up for her new single album The Move: Street, reunited with ten of her old bandmates at a cafe in the trendy Seoul neighborhood of Seogyo. “We support each other and get along well,” she shared.

IZ*ONE, a product of the Mnet survival show Produce 48, debuted in 2018 with 12 members. Their time together lasted for two years and six months, ending in April 2021. Since then, the girls either joined new groups like IVE and LE SSERAFIM or flew solo. Chaeyeon, for instance, earned a lot of attention with her hit “Knock.”

Nako visited Korea last month, and we met with the IZ*ONE members,” Chaeyeon shared. “Ten of us gathered, excluding Hitomi, who is active in Japan, and Wonyoung, who had a shooting schedule.” Their meet-up was reminiscent of a high school reunion, filled with laughter and chatter.

“It was so fun that we decided to meet up once a year,” she added.

What’s going on with Chaeyeon and IZ*ONE?

Chaeyeon‘s dancing was her strong point on Produce 48. After IZ*ONE, she joined Mnet’s Street Woman Fighter and made a brief appearance on Queendom Puzzle last month. Reflecting on all the shows she participated in, she said, “Survival programs are tough and can be hurtful. However, you can also gain learning and growth from them. That’s the taste of survival.” She expressed her love for challenges and her desire to venture into areas where she can excel without enduring excessive pain.

Her new single, The Move: Street, features the track “LET’S DANCE.” The choreography revived the shuffle dance that was popular in the 2010s. For this, she reunited with choreographer Rosalyn, whom she met during Street Woman Fighter and had previously worked with on “Knock.”

“Dancing is my life,” Chaeyeon said passionately. “When I dance, it feels like I travel to a different world, and I don’t think about anything else.”

In other IZ*ONE news, the girls just achieved a significant YouTube milestone. Their official video for “Secret Story of the Swan” breached the 100 million views mark. This came about three years and two months after its June 16, 2020 release. This actually their’ first brush with such success; “Secret Story of the Swan” is IZ*ONE’s third music video to earn 100 million views, following “La Vie en Rose” and “FIESTA.” – K-Pop News Writer
