On March 31, Kim Soo Hyun held a press conference to publicly address the ongoing controversy surrounding his past relationship with the late actress Kim Sae Ron.
During the press conference, Kim Soo Hyun issued a formal apology while firmly denying all allegations made against him. He specifically refuted the claims regarding the KakaoTalk message evidence that was presented by Kim Sae Ron’s family in their recent press conference. Kim Soo Hyun stated that his relationship with Kim Sae Ron occurred five years ago and lasted for approximately one year. He emphasized that there was no wrongdoing on his part and expressed regret over the spread of misinformation.
Following the press conference, Kim Soo Hyun’s legal representative, Kim Jong Bok, released an additional statement regarding the actor’s legal course of action. The representative confirmed that Kim Soo Hyun, along with his agency GOLDMEDALIST, has officially taken legal steps to counter the allegations.
“Actor Kim Soo Hyun and his agency GOLDMEDALIST have decided to file criminal complaints and civil lawsuits against the parties involved in order to clarify the facts. They have entrusted this matter to our law firm,” the statement read.
“In response to their request, our law firm filed a complaint today against the bereaved family members, an unidentified individual claiming to be [Kim Sae Ron’s] aunt, and the operators of HoverLab Inc. for defamation under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. The complaint includes the emotional assessment report mentioned earlier by actor Kim Soo Hyun,” it continued
As the controversy continues to unfold, the legal battle between both parties is expected to intensify. Meanwhile, Kim Soo Hyun has urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information while he works to clear his name.
