Jung Woo Directorial Debut Film to Star Krystal Jung
On January 13, Krystal’s agency Beasts And Natives Alike (BANA) officially confirmed that the actress and f(x) member will star in “Audition 109” (literal title), a sequel to Jung Woo’s acclaimed 2009 film “Wind.”
The story follows Jjangu, a man from Busan with big dreams of becoming a film actor. To pursue his passion, Jjangu moves to Seoul, embarking on a journey filled with challenges and self-discovery. Jung Woo, who originally portrayed Jjangu in “Wind,” will reprise his iconic role while also making his directorial debut, co-directing the project alongside Oh Sung Ho.
Krystal will play Min Hee, Jjangu’s girlfriend, who supports him as he navigates the demanding world of acting. Fans are eager to see Krystal bring her signature charm and emotional depth to this new role, adding another impressive project to her growing filmography.
In an exciting addition, Shin Seung Ho has joined the cast as Jang Jae, Jjangu’s close friend. Shin Seung Ho’s agency, KINGKONG by STARSHIP, shared on January 15, “Shin Seung Ho will play the role of Jang Jae in ‘Audition 109.’ We hope for lots of anticipation and support.” Shin is set to bring authenticity to his character with his skills in the Busan dialect and promises to showcase strong on-screen chemistry with Jung Woo.
With a compelling storyline, the collaboration of seasoned and rising talents, and Jung Woo’s passion as both lead actor and director, “Audition 109” is shaping up to be a heartfelt exploration of dreams and resilience.
