“Revolver” is a captivating new film about Ha Soo Young, a former police officer played by Jeon Do Yeon, who goes to prison for a crime she didn’t commit. In this film, Lim Ji Yeon stars as Jung Yoon Sun, also known as “Madam Jung.” She is linked to the nightclub involved in Soo Young’s corruption case.
Intriguingly, Madam Jung is the only person who will visit Soo Young on the day of her release. She brings a bottle of whiskey as a gift but leaves without answering Soo Young’s questions about how she knew the release date or who sent her. Lim Ji Yeon forms a fascinating dynamic with Jeon Do Yeon, whose cold personality contrasts sharply with Yoon Sun’s vibrant personality. Explaining her attraction to the role, Lim Ji Yeon said, “I was deeply impressed by the charm of Yoon Sun, who seems like a burst of energy in a quiet film. I wanted to try delivering Yoon Sun’s lines in a fun and entertaining way.”
She continued, “Though she appears simple, she’s actually a complex and thoughtful individual. I wanted to subtly portray the sense of camaraderie and sophisticated feelings she experiences while assisting Soo Young.”
Discussing her approach to styling for the character, the actress shared, “I opted for vibrant colors that contrasted with Soo Young’s attire, and I tried to incorporate unique items like eye-catching accessories, high heels, and brightly colored knee-high socks.”
Director Oh Seung Wook praised Lim Ji Yeon’s performance, stating, “In her portrayal of Yoon Sun, Lim Ji Yeon has brought out a side of herself that I haven’t seen in other works. When Yoon Sun’s true nature is revealed, it feels like her mask suddenly drops.”
