Romance drama “Dear Hyeri” features Shin Hye Sun in dual roles

Shin Hye Sun will captivate audiences with her portrayal of two distinct characters in the upcoming romance drama “Dear Hyeri.” This drama centers around Joo Eun Ho, an announcer who develops dissociative identity disorder after facing significant personal trauma, including her younger sibling’s disappearance and a heartbreaking breakup with her long-time boyfriend, Hyun Oh, played by Lee Jin Wook.

In “Dear Hyeri,” Shin Hye Sun takes on the challenging dual roles of Joo Eun Ho and Joo Hye Ri. The show’s teaser poster, which artfully contrasts black-and-white with color, already sparks intrigue. It showcases Shin Hye Sun’s ability to switch between two polar opposite characters: Joo Eun Ho, an announcer concealing her inner pain, and Joo Hye Ri, a scholarship student brimming with optimism and joy.

The mood films released alongside the poster reveal more about the complex narrative. Each film presents a different perspective on love, dreams, and the emotional turmoil of the characters. The first film grabs attention with the words: “Are you saying it’s a love story? I didn’t come here to discuss love. I’m here to talk about dreams.”

The second mood film gives a different tone: “Are you saying it’s a love story? Extreme hatred would be better. Even if I’m dying soon, don’t come. You seem to like it because you hate it so much.”

Lastly, the third concept film goes: “Have you ever had your first kiss? When it creates a physical attachment, the next step is to avoid it. Since we’ve kissed, let’s move on.”

The drama is set to air this September 23, every Monday and Tuesday.
