Stray Kids’ Changbin recently admitted that working on their latest song “Chk Chk Boom” had him stressed. The 3RACHA member opened up about his struggles during an appearance on “Hyo’s Level Up”, the YouTube channel hosted by Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon.

Changbin Says Writing ‘Chk Chk Boom’ Had Him Stressed

During the interview, Changbin discussed the creation of “Chk Chk Boom,” a track co-produced by his fellow 3RACHA members Bang Chan and Han. He revealed that while the initial conceptualization of the song took only a few hours, the revisions took much longer and caused him to be stressed. Changbin confessed that he feels immense pressure when writing songs intended for the entire Stray Kids group to perform.

To alleviate this mental block, Changbin decided to simplify his approach and focus on creating a hip-hop track. This shift not only reduced the pressure he felt but also allowed him to produce a song that could be easily adapted to fit the group’s style.

Hyoyeon then asked about the process of getting a song approved by the group, questioning if more than half of the members need to approve a track for it to become a team song. Changbin then explained that multiple factors influence the decision. In addition to receiving approval from the majority of the members, the company also has to select the track for it to be included in their repertoire.

Changbin’s candid discussion highlights the challenges and pressures that come with songwriting, especially when the expectations of an entire group and their management are involved. Despite the stress, his ability to adapt and simplify the creative process demonstrates his resilience and dedication to producing quality music for Stray Kids. Fans of the group can appreciate the hard work and emotional investment that goes into creating the songs they love.
