However, due to a surge in visitor traffic following the rumors, the website is currently inaccessible. The information available on the site suggests that ODDATELIER, abbreviated as OA, is envisioned as “a space for creating novel and attention-grabbing content that deviates from conventional expectations”. The label is said to be founded by Jennie herself, emphasizing her role as both an artist and entrepreneur.

While BLACKPINK, including Jennie, recently renewed their contract with YG Entertainment for group activities, the details regarding her solo endeavors had not been officially disclosed. The emergence of rumors about ODDATELIER adds an intriguing layer to Jennie’s career trajectory, hinting at potential solo projects and an avenue for expressing her distinct artistic vision.

Despite the circulating rumors, neither Jennie nor official sources have confirmed the establishment of ODDATELIER. The lack of official confirmation has left fans eagerly anticipating an official statement from the artist or her management team.

Attention, tvN’s newest variety show Apartment 404 is getting ready for its much-awaited release!

In the 15-second trailer posted on Wednesday, December 20, the show’s full cast lineup has been unveiled.

Notably, the variety program will feature Jennie of girl group BLACKPINK, and veteran host Yoo Jae Suk. Moreover, Moving actors Cha Tae Hyun and Lee Jung Ha, Alchemy of Souls actress Oh Na Ra and Yang Se Chan of Running Man.

With Jennie confirmed to be a part of the show, fans, especially BLINKs, are even more excited! Especially as this will be the idol’s first variety show appearance as a mainstay in five years. In 2018, she was part of the show Village Survival, the Eight. 

In Apartment 404, the cast will play as the six residents of an apartment who will trace the truth behind extraordinary events. What makes the storyline more exciting is that these events are based on the real-life experiences of people.

Moreover, the program will also be led by director Jung Chul Min, known for his work Sixth Sense. Set in different locations and periods each episode, the viewers’ investigative skills and memory will be put into test as they try to solve mysteries with the cast.

With the announcement of the final cast lineup, fans are anticipating how the members will work their way together.

Known as an entertainment show veteran, Yoo Jae Suk is expected to show his leadership and wisdom in solving cases in the show. As seen in his previous shows such as Busted! and The Zone: Survival Mission, Jae Suk proved that he also has an edge in mystery variety shows.

Meanwhile, Jennie, who’ll be having her return on variety programs, will act as the mascot for Apartment 404. Her fans are already looking forward to her adorable appearance in the show. 

They will be joined by actors Cha Tae Hyun and Lee Jung Ha who both gained recognition for the hit 2023 drama Moving. In particular, Tae Hyun who has two-decades experience in the industry is also expected to show his wits in the table. On the other hand, Jung Ha will be showing his charm as the youngest member in the group. 

And the chemistry between the cast is even made powerful with actress Oh Na Ra’s bubbly personality. But the lineup is made complete by comedian Yang Se Chan, who’s known for his unique and fun tactics.

Apartment 404 is set to premiere in the first half of 2024.

BLACKPINK Renews Contract With YG Entertainment for Group Activities

All four members of BLACKPINK have officially extended their contracts with their original agency, YG Entertainment, for future group activities, putting an end to the speculation surrounding the acclaimed K-pop sensation’s future.

On Wednesday, December 6, YG Entertainment announced that they’ve successfully secured exclusive contracts for group endeavors with Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. A representative from the label emphasized that this decision was reached after thorough discussions and is founded on a deep sense of trust between the parties involved.

“After careful discussions with BLACKPINK, we signed exclusive contracts for group activities based on deep trust,” YG Entertainment said, according to a Soompi report. 

 

Furthermore, Yang Hyun Suk, the executive producer at YG Entertainment, expressed his joy in continuing the collaborative journey with BLACKPINK. He said: “BLACKPINK will continue to do their best to shine even brighter in the global music market as artists representing not only our agency but also K-pop, and we send our unwavering support and faith for their future steps.”

According to South Korean media reports, the contract renewal will see the quartet release new music and hold another large-scale world tour soon.

While the renewal covers group activities, there has been no official announcement regarding the members’ solo pursuits yet. 

Since the quartet’s original contract with YG Entertainment expired in August, there’s speculation that the members would pursue individual activities with other agencies. To recall, there were reports claiming that Lisa will be signing with an American agency, while Jennie and Jisoo will allegedly set up their own labels. Notably, these reports also included deals that allegedly promised business and promotional opportunities for the artists outside of their K-pop activities. 

Although there’s no news about the members’ contract for their solo activities, the latest news concludes months of uncertainty about BLACKPINK’s future as a group. 

Since their debut in 2016 with hit singles like “Whistle” and “Boombayah,” BLACKPINK has risen to become one of the most commercially successful female acts in the K-pop industry.  

Furthermore, they also made history as the first K-pop act to headline the renowned Coachella music festival in the United States, solidifying their global influence and popularity. Recently, the members were also awarded with honorary memberships in the Order of the British Empire.

BLACKPINK Receives Honorary MBEs From King Charles at Buckingham Palace

BLACKPINK, the renowned South Korean girl group, has been granted honorary membership in the Order of the British Empire.

In a special investiture ceremony on November 22 at Buckingham Palace, King Charles presented all four members of BLACKPINK with honorary MBEs. Notably, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and First Lady Kim Keon Hee were also present during the investiture ceremony. 

On the Royal Family’s official social media accounts, they also shared clips of the BLACKPINK members receiving their honorary MBEs from King Charles. “The K-pop band have been awarded the honors in recognition of their role as advocates for the COP26 Summit in Glasgow,” they captioned the post. 

For those unfamiliar, the MBEs are part of a series of medals and honors that the King can confer on behalf of the government.

According to reports, Rosé, holding dual New Zealand citizenship and being a national of a British realm, received a “substantive” MBE. This distinguishes her from the purely honorary recognition bestowed upon the three remaining members: Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa. 

Another historic feat for BLACKPINK 

As recognition stems from their pivotal role as official advocates for the forthcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, the Royal Family further commended BLACKPINK for their vocal support for the campaign to raise awareness about climate change. 

A day prior to the investiture ceremony, King Charles also hosted a banquet at Buckingham Palace for the South Korean president and first lady, with all four BLACKPINK members in attendance. 

In his banquet speech, King Charles commended Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé, for effectively conveying the message of environmental sustainability to a global audience while balancing their roles as international superstars. Based on the clips circulating online, the members were visibly surprised by the acknowledgment of their pivotal role. 

Moreover, BLACKPINK’s contributions for this initiative extended beyond verbal support. As the group also released educational videos aimed at enlightening the younger generation about climate issues. Which led to the group being appointed as global ambassadors for the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals. 

With this, BLACKPINK has now become the first and only non-British musical artist to receive this prestigious honorary award. Furthermore, they’ll be joining notable musical artists such as The Beatles (1965), Adele (2013), and Ed Sheeran (2017) as recipients of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE). 

On social media, fans of the group are overjoyed with BLACKPINK’s latest achievement. On top of that, they’re also delighted to see all four members together again amidst the group’s ongoing contract renewal negotiation with YG Entertainment.

BLACKPINK’s Jennie, ‘Moving’ Actor Lee Jung Ha to Participate in ‘Apartment 404’

A new team-up of celebrities is gearing up to delight fans in a new variety show. TVN announced on Thursday October 5, that Jennie of girl group BLACKPINK and actor Lee Jung Ha from the drama Moving will appear in Apartment 404, alongside “Nation’s MC” Yoo Jae Suk and veteran actor Cha Tae Hyun.

According to the network, Apartment 404 will be a reality variety program that will take place in an apartment complex. The real-action show is created by PD Jeong Cheol Min, known for his popular programs Running Man, and Village Survival, the Eight, and Sixth Sense.

Interestingly, Apartment 404 will be a reunion program of Jennie and Yoo Jae Suk. In 2018, the two celebrities previously worked together in the first season of Village Survival, the Eight. Now that five years have passed, fans are thrilled to see the two stars interact again.

On the other hand, Apartment 404 will be Lee Jung Ha’s first variety show in his career. The breakthrough actor previously gained recognition for his portrayal of Kim Bong Seok in the hit superhero drama Movin. With the success of the series, the creators are now in talks for a second season. There, Jung ha starred alongside Cha Tae Hyun, who will also take part in the upcoming variety show. 

Along with the confirmation of Jennie and Jung Ha’s appearance, TVN also announced that the production team is currently in the process of recruiting guests. Though broadcast details are yet to be finalized, Apartment 404 is expected to premiere in the first half of 2024.

Actor Jung Ha, meanwhile, is set to star in the new drama One: High School Heroes. As per his agency, Namoo Actors, the filming for the show has already been completed and is now in its post-production process.

Apart from that, Jung Ha has been selected as the new MC of MBC’s Show! Music Core. He will be with The Boyz’s Younghoon and NMIXX’s Sullyoon in the program.

Even before the confirmation of their appearances in Apartment 404, Jennie and Jung Ha have already given a brief sneak peak of their friendship. The two previously posed in a photo together when the actor attended BLACKPINK’s Born Pink Finale in Seoul, giving a hint of their upcoming project.
