BIGHIT MUSIC Comments on Lee Jin Ho Debt To BTS Jimin

BIGHIT MUSIC has addressed the financial losses incurred by Jimin after lending money to comedian Lee Jin Ho. The BTS member is just one of many celebrities who lent money to the controversial actor.

What Happened to Lee Jin Ho?

On October 14, Lee Jin Ho revealed that he had accumulated substantial debt due to illegal gambling, leading him to seek financial assistance from several individuals, including well-known celebrities. He claims to be repaying the debt steadily each month, with the intention of settling it in full. However, it was reported that the total debt amounts to hundreds of millions of won, affecting not just Jimin but also celebrities like Lee Soo Geun, Young Tak, Ha Sung Woon, and various broadcasting executives, producers, and writers.

Some of these individuals reportedly lent money to Lee without a promissory note, making them vulnerable to tax penalties. Since these transactions were classified as “gifts” rather than loans, they now face potential tax liabilities. In light of the situation, several celebrities have reportedly chosen to file fraud charges against the comedian, aiming to seize his appearance fees to recover their losses.

BIGHIT MUSIC Addresses Debt Issue

In Jimin’s case, the comedian approached him in 2022, requesting to borrow 100 million won (approximately $73,600) for a week, claiming urgent need. Despite signing a promissory note, Lee failed to repay the loan within the agreed time frame. As reported, Jimin concluded that Lee had no genuine intention of repaying the money and, in a gesture of leniency, told him to “just pay me back within 10 years.”

BIGHIT MUSIC confirmed the situation, stating, “It is indeed true that financial losses have occurred [to Jimin]. He lent money with a signed promissory note.”

Following the controversy, Lee Jin Ho has stepped down from his role on JTBC’s popular variety show “Knowing Bros” (also known as “Ask Us Anything”). Additionally, he did not attend the press conference for Netflix’s variety show “Comedy Revenge”, which was scheduled for the morning of October 14. The scandal has raised concerns about trust and financial accountability within the entertainment industry.

BTS Suga DUI Case Sentenced With A Fine

Suga‘s sentencing has finally been revealed. The BTS member has officially been sentenced with a fine in connection with a DUI case involving an electric scooter.

Suga Officially Sentenced With A Fine

On September 30, the Seoul Court issued a summary order, imposing a fine of ₩15.0 million KRW (approximately $11,200 USD) for driving under the influence.

This penalty mirrors the initial recommendation made by the prosecution during the September 11 hearing. A summary order is typically used in relatively minor cases, allowing for a fine or penalty without a formal trial. However, if Suga wishes to contest the decision, he has the right to request a formal trial within seven days.

The case stems from an incident that occurred last month when Suga was caught driving an electric scooter with a blood alcohol level of 0.227%, which far exceeds the legal limit. His actions have shocked the BTS fandom, known as ARMY, who have always admired his responsible image.

Suga quickly addressed the situation, also issuing a heartfelt apology to ARMY on August 25 through a handwritten letter on Weverse. In his letter, he expressed deep remorse for his actions, acknowledged the gravity of the situation, and took full responsibility. His letter also followed an appearance at the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul on August 23, where he was questioned about violating the Road Traffic Act.

Fans have also been concerned about Suga since the incident, especially after a few brands allegedly dropped the BTS member from current promotions. Luckily, it looks like Min Yoongi will soldier on and continue to be an important member of the worldwide phenomenon.

This case also serves as a reminder of the serious consequences of drunk driving, regardless of one’s status or fame. In the meantime, Suga will finally end his mandatory military service as a social worker on June 21, 2025.

BTS Suga to Continue as Samsung Ambassador Amidst DUI Case

Suga may continue to be a Samsung ambassador after all. A new post appears to confirm that the BTS member could still promote the brand amidst his ongoing DUI case.

BTS Member Suga Returns as Samsung Ambassador in New Post

Suga has reappeared as a model for Samsung Electronics, putting to rest some of the concerns about his future with the brand. On August 31, Samsung Electronics Paraguay‘s official social media accounts released several images of Suga in an advertisement for Samsung’s “Freestyle 2nd Gen projector.”

This reappearance is particularly significant, as there has been much speculation about whether Samsung would continue its association with Suga following recent controversies. The uncertainty began when several Samsung accounts, notably those in Germany, removed Suga’s images from their platforms in mid-August after news of the rapper’s DUI incident surfaced.

On August 24, Samsung Electronics Germany took down promotional photos of Suga endorsing the Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphone, which led to widespread speculation about the implications for his partnership with the brand. The situation was further fueled when Samsung Deutschland deleted a social media post featuring Suga shortly after it was uploaded on August 15. These actions raised concerns among fans, some of whom called for a boycott of Samsung products in response to what they perceived as the company distancing itself from the BTS member.

Despite the ongoing investigation into Suga’s case, the recent advertisements from Samsung Paraguay suggest that any conflicts surrounding his role as a model for the company may have been resolved. This development has reassured fans that Suga’s partnership with Samsung is still intact, at least for now. It also highlights the complex relationship between celebrities and brand endorsements, where personal controversies can quickly impact professional engagements.

For Suga and his fans, this reappearance marks a positive step forward, signaling that he continues to be a valued face for Samsung’s global marketing campaigns.
