SeolA of WJSN to Make Solo Debut

SeolA from K-pop group WJSN, also known as Cosmic Girls, is set to embark on a solo debut!

Starship Entertainment has officially verified the reports, affirming that SeolA is in the midst of preparations for her solo debut, scheduled for early 2024.

According to reports by Korean media, the label said: “WJSN’s SeolA is debuting as a solo artist, and she is aiming for a release in January. We ask that you give lots of support to SeolA, who will be starting 2024 with a solo debut.”

With this, SeolA will be the first member of WJSN to venture into an official solo debut.

Although no other details about her upcoming release were provided yet, fans are already anticipating her solo debut as the idol is known to be an all-rounder. In WJSN, she’s known to be one of the members who are in charge of the group’s visual, dance, and vocal roles.

Moreover, she also exhibited a diverse range of charms as the main vocalist in WJSN sub-unit The Black. Furthermore, her mature musical prowess has also been acknowledged after she contributed lyrics and composition to some of the group’s tracks. To note, she was credited in the song “Our Garden” and New Me” from the group’s albums Neverland and Unnatural, respectively.

Apart from her group activities, SeolA has also showcased her hosting skills through KBS Radio Cool FM’s Station Z. Moreover, she also ventured into acting, starring in projects Love in Black Hole and In-Out Sider.

SeolA and WJSN activities

Notably, the news of SeolA’s upcoming solo debut was well-received by fans as it’s been a while since WJSN had any music releases. Their latest album, Sequence, was released in June 2022. Moreover, said album was released following the group’s win at the second season of the idol competition show Queendom.

In March 2023, Starship Entertainment announced that SeolA and seven other WJSN members – Exy, Bona, Soobin, Eunseo, Yeoreum, Dayoung, and Yeonjung – have renewed their contracts with the agency. Meanwhile, Luda and Dawon’s contracts have ended. Additionally, Chineses members Xuan Yi, Cheng Xiao, and Mei Qi had also terminated their contracts.
