Weverse Adds New Features at ENHYPEN Leader Jungwon’s Suggestion

Earlier this month, the team responsible for HYBE’s operations in Japan held a press conference in Tokyo to discuss strategies and future plans for the Weverse app in Japan. Weverse is a fan community platform that facilitates interactions between artists and fans globally, offering services such as community management, media content distribution, merchandise sales, and real-time streaming.

Weverse currently manages official communities for over 130 artists and audition programs from both South Korea and internationally. It stands as the largest platform of its kind, serving users from 245 countries and regions in 15 languages with real-time translation features. As of last June, Weverse surpassed 100 million downloads. While specific user data per country remains confidential, Japan ranks among the top five countries with a notably active user base.

Weverse Japan’s General Manager, Moon Jisu, revealed that his team surveyed users in March and found that the app’s satisfaction rate is 87 percent. Some complained that Weverse isn’t very user-friendly and has “too many features to use effectively.” To address their concerns, Moon Jisu and his team will streamline the app’s interface. They hope doing so will make it easier for fans to communicate with their biases.

A valuable addition to Weverse

A notable enhancement they made to the app was based on a suggestion made by ENHYPEN’s leader Jungwon. Thanks to him, Weverse will now allow artists to do joint livestreams, with real-time translations extending to 12 languages for Korean streams and four for Japanese ones. This feature is already live—B1A4 tried it a few days ago, much to the amusement of their fans.

Not everyone is amused, however. While many praised Jungwon for his innovative suggestion, others pointed out that BTS’s V had mentioned wanting to do joint livestreams before Jungwon did. V would even switch to Instagram because Weverse’s limitations didn’t allow him to go live with his members. However, Jungwon did something V didn’t—he actually made a formal request for the feature to be added.

Ultimately, regardless of who suggested it first, the addition of the joint livestream feature is a valuable addition to Weverse that artists and fans alike can benefit from. – K-Pop News Writer

ENHYPEN’s Jay Cherishes a Birthday Gift He Got From Jungwon in 2022

In 2021, ENHYPEN’s Jay and Jungwon began a tradition that brought the two of them closer together. Jay gave Jungwon a jacket as a gift, and in return, Jungwon gave Jay an air fryer for his birthday that year.

In his 2024 B-DAY Paper Interview, Jay shared his affection for the unique present. He wrote, “The air fryer that Jungwonie gave me as a gift is the most memorable. Actually, I haven’t had the chance to use it properly yet, but it was memorable because it was my first time to get such a unique gift. Air fryers aren’t usually given as birthday gifts. I need to try cooking with that air fryer right away. Jungwon, thank you!”

Jay must really be special to Jungwon

Jungwon’s thoughtful approach to gifting didn’t stop there. Over the years, he has tried very hard to come up with creative and personal gifts for his friend. He even asked ENGENEs for suggestions in 2022. That same year, his mother expressed interest in helping him choose a gift for Jay. (It’s possible she helped her son decide on the air fryer.) Jungwon has considered giving Jay a wide variety of things, from perfume to homemade cake to guitar supplies.

Such efforts are notable within ENHYPEN, as member Ni-Ki revealed in a recent live broadcast that the boys generally don’t exchange gifts. He explained, “We celebrate, but that’s how we are since debut.” This makes Jungwon’s persistent gift-giving particularly meaningful. But that’s not all he does for Jay. This year, he made sure to be the first to wish his hyung a happy birthday.

Jay must really be special to Jungwon, otherwise why would he go to such lengths to make the former happy?

ENHYPEN’s Jungwon Goes Viral for Sweet Interaction With a Fan

ENHYPEN‘s leader Jungwon is making waves on social media for his treatment of fans.

A South Korean netizen posted about her encounter with Jungwon outside the HYBE Labels building recently. As proof of her story, she shared a photo of the photocard she asked him to sign on social media, along with her account of what happened.

On X (formerly Twitter), the Jungwon fan account @jungwonglobal translated the netizen’s story. “OP said she met Jungwon in front of the HYBE building yesterday. When she called him and said she was an ENGENE, he came closer and gave her his autograph. He even greeted her with a fist bump.” This explains the signed photocard the netizen posted on her X account, which bore the username @wwxn28.

As if getting his autograph wasn’t a big enough coup, the fan was lucky enough to experience how sweet the “Sweet Venom” singer can really be. When the netizen handed Jungwon the photocard and a pen for him to sign it, their hands touched briefly. That’s when he offered to do something nice for her. “Jungwon said he would buy her a hot pack because her hands were cold. He even offered to buy her a meal because she had told him she hadn’t eaten. OP felt embarrassed, so she naturally said it was OK.”

Fans called Jungwon an ‘angel’

This act of kindness by the idol has impressed fans online, highlighting the reasons they adore him. Another X user commented, “This is the sweetest thing ever.” The story of this particular encounter has gone viral on social media, revealing Jungwon‘s true personality to the public. ENHYPEN’s Jungwon Accidentally References STRAY KIDS’ Changbin

Jungwon is proving yet again that he is a funny guy. The ENHYPEN leader made a joke in a recent interview that had everyone laughing. After all, it was an unintentional reference to fellow funny guy STRAY KIDS rapper Changbin.

ENHYPEN Leader Jungwon Unintentionally Channels STRAY KIDS’ Changbin In Latest Interview

Yang Jungwon recently joined fellow ENHYPEN members Heeseung and Sunghoon as guests in “The K-Star Next Door”. During the interview, the idols were clearly at ease while talking to host Jonathan.

Interestingly, Jungwon may have been a little too comfortable about being on the show. When his mic needed to be fixed, the ENHYPEN leader declared, “I need to go to the bathroom.”

The statement itself was hilarious enough for everyone but it also brought back memories for Jonathan. The host immediately remembered STRAY KIDS’ Changbin saying the same thing during their interview.

Luckily, Jonathan didn’t miss a beat. He had an equally hilarious solution for ENHYPEN’s problem. “Let’s put on diapers from now on. You need to tell them when you cast them,” the host told the staff, making the idols laugh.

The bathroom situation got funnier when Jungwon, Heeseung, and Sunghoon all left the set to head for the restroom. The same thing happened to Jonathan when he interviewed STRAY KIDS and he was left alone on the set.

ENHYPEN Finds Their Eighth Member

The exchanges between the ENHYPEN members and the host of “The K-Star Next Door” were funny and relatable. Sunghoon felt so comfortable talking to the host that he suggested Jonathan should be ENHYPEN’s eighth member.

ENHYPEN’s agency Belift Lab recently confirmed that the idol group will have their next comeback in May. The concept trailer for the comeback was released today.

Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon, and Ni-ki will release their fourth EP ‘Dark Blood’ on May 22, 2023.
