“Since Netflix series are watched worldwide, I thought that making my expressions clear and more exaggerated would help international viewers connect with the character,” he added. “You could say Jae Won brings a comedic charm that contrasts with Baek Kang Hyuk’s perfection. I really tried to highlight what makes Jae Won uniquely endearing.”

On January 24, Ju Ji Hoon’s agency confirmed that the actor has been offered a role in the project and is currently reviewing it. “It’s true that [Ju Ji Hoon] has received an offer and is currently reviewing it, but it has not yet been definitively decided that he will appear in the drama,” the agency stated.

“The Remarried Empress” is a fantasy romance centered around Navier, the ideal empress of the Eastern Empire. Despite her perfection, her world shatters when her husband, Sovieshu, the emperor of the Eastern Empire, betrays her by cheating and demanding a divorce. However, Navier rises above her circumstances, eventually remarrying Heinrey, the charismatic emperor of the Western Empire, leading to an intricate tale of love, betrayal, and political intrigue.

If he accepts, Ju Ji Hoon will take on the complex role of Sovieshu, a character whose actions set the story’s dramatic events into motion. Meanwhile, Shin Min Ah is in talks to portray Navier, the strong-willed and dignified empress, while Lee Jong Suk is being considered for Heinrey, the charming and supportive emperor who changes Navier’s life.
