SUPER JUNIOR D and E, MAMAMOO+ and More Cancel K-Pop Festival Open Air #2 Appearance

The much-anticipated K-Pop Festival Open Air #2 in Vietnam has found itself embroiled in controversy and facing severe backlash due to mismanagement, leading to a cascade of withdrawals from participating artists. The two-day event, originally set to unfold at the My Dinh National Stadium on December 23 and 24, boasted a star-studded lineup featuring renowned acts like EXO’s Chen and Xiumin, TRI.BE, Super Junior D&E, INFINITE, HIGHLIGHT, MAMAMOO+, and more.

However, the excitement surrounding the festival turned into disappointment and frustration as multiple artists began announcing their withdrawal just days before the scheduled event. The first blow came on December 20 when INFINITE declared their decision to pull out, citing the organizers’ repeated failure to fulfill contractual obligations and their inability to confirm whether essential local permits had been secured for the event.

MAMAMOO+ Pulls Out of Upcoming Music Festival in Vietnam

Following INFINITE’s announcement, a domino effect ensued, with other high-profile acts, including Super Junior D&E, HIGHLIGHT, MAMAMOO+, The Wind, Jaejoong, TRI.BE, and 2PM’s Nichkhun and Jun.K, confirming the cancellation of their appearances. The wave of withdrawals not only left fans devastated but also raised concerns about the festival’s viability as a whole.

The primary issues cited by the withdrawing artists were the organizers’ failure to meet contractual obligations and the uncertainty surrounding essential permits for the event. The lack of clarity and assurance from the organizers regarding the necessary approvals added a layer of skepticism to the entire affair.

As fans expressed their disappointment and frustration on social media, the spotlight turned to BOM Entertainment, the organizer of the festival. Despite the mounting criticism and the widespread cancellations, BOM Entertainment has yet to release an official statement addressing the situation, leaving fans and the public in the dark about the fate of the K-Pop Festival Open Air #2.

The incident highlights the importance of thorough and transparent event management, particularly when dealing with high-profile artists and large-scale festivals. The organizers’ failure to secure necessary permits and fulfill contractual obligations not only jeopardizes the event but also undermines the trust of both participating artists and fans. As the controversy unfolds, the K-Pop community awaits a response from BOM Entertainment and hopes for clear communication regarding the future of the festival.

MAMAMOO’s Hwasa Reportedly Visited a Bridal Shop

Is Hwa Sa tying the knot soon? The MAMAMOO member has raised eyebrows and sparked speculation about her relationship status following an intriguing visit to a prominent bridal shop in Seoul. In addition to that, Hwasa’s cheeky note for the establishment seemingly confirmed she will soon be off the market!

Hwa Sa Pays Unexpected Visit To A Bridal Shop

On October 10, 2023, Bridal Kong, a prestigious bridal boutique in the South Korean capital, posted a photograph of Hwasa’s autograph, and the artist expressed her gratitude to the store in her note. “To Bridal Kong, a place which gives you wings. Thank you,” the MAMAMOO member wrote.

In her autograph, Hwasa made a subtle reference to a Korean saying that suggests the right dress can give one wings. The bridal shop reciprocated with thanks to Hwasa for her visit, accompanied by an unexpected addition – a winking face emoji in their social media tags.

The use of the winking emoji alongside promotional tags for the store and its brands has fueled speculation about Hwasa’s intentions. While many celebrities often rent bridal gowns for high-profile events and red carpet appearances, these gowns are typically custom-designed for such occasions due to their extravagant nature. With the year-end season approaching, some suggest that Hwasa may have visited the shop to seek attire for a gala concert or an event.

However, it is worth noting that celebrities often do not personally visit shops for such arrangements. Instead, stylists typically bring a selection of options to the artist’s private studio. Therefore, it is relatively unusual to see celebrities physically visiting bridal shops for such orders.

Hwasa’s visit to the bridal shop has ignited curiosity and speculation, particularly in light of her known five-year relationship with an older businessman who is 12 years her senior. This visit raises questions about the nature of her relationship and potential future plans, including the possibility of wedding bells. It remains to be seen whether this is a casual fitting for work or a hint at more personal developments in Hwasa’s life.

With this, no charges would be filed against Hwasa. The development came almost five months since her controversial performance.

In September, the Seoul Seongdong Police Station revealed that they had summoned Hwasa to question her about the controversial performance. Her agency, P NATION, confirmed the report. Moreover, the label emphasized that their artist fully cooperated with the police during the investigation.

Moving forward with her career

Following the news about the police dropping Hwasa’s case, P NATION released a brief statement that they’re currently checking the information. As of writing, Hwasa has yet to personally address the development in her case.

However, it can be recalled that the singer previously spoke about how the controversy has been affecting her. “I don’t usually react much to malicious comments but it’s too harsh this time round,” she said then.

Such experience, she explained, gave her the inspiration for her latest single “I LOVE MY BODY.”
